Who Sticks Out For You?

Bry_Sinclair

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Every Trek series as seen a number of guest stars (appearing in just and episode or, if they're lucky, a two-parter) not to mention all the extras who manage to get a name and even a line or two throughout a series.

But who, out of all of those fleet appearances, has just stuck in your mind and left a memorable impression over the years?

For me some that immediately spring to mind are (in no particular order):

Lieutenant Selar MD
Ensign Sariel Rager
Lt. Commander/Commander Shelby
Ensign Sam Lavelle
Ensign Sito Jaxa
Ensign Melora Pazlar
Ensign Hoya
Lieutenant Stadi
Crewman Gerron
Crewman Hogan

Of course there's Mr. Leslie from TOS, and Lt. Ayala from Voyager. There's also a gray haired black guy in a science uniform seen frequently on Voyager, and the elderly Chinese guy in engineering Kirk bumps into TWOK.

Almost forgot, Lt. Commander George Primmin fom season 1 of DS9.

For one-shot guests as opposed to recurring?

TOS-Trelane, Gary Seven

TNG- Shelby, Jellico

DS9-Marritza

VOY- Joel Grey's character from "resistance," the evil clown from "the thaw"

ENT- none specifically come to mind, Shran and Soval for recurring

It has to be Maury Ginsberg, the only actor to play himself in the whole franchise. That has to count for something.

Actually Hogan was a Lieutenant, which makes it all the more weird to see the hedgehog order him to his death.

The awesomely beautiful Ens Robin Leffler (Ashley Judd)
The awesomely beautiful Ens Sonja Gomez (Lycia Naff)
The awesomely beautiful Dr. Selar (Suzi Plakson)
The awesomely beautiful officer at tactical in Contagion. (Dana Sparks)
The awesomely beautiful security officer in Empok Nor (Marjeen Holden)

Pretty much anyone who I thought was awesomely beautiful. :D

Morgan Woodward (Simon Van Gelder and Ron Tracy), Ronny Cox (Edward Jellico).

What about Stephen Hawking?

That's why I said "actor".;)

Am I the only one who's bothered that the hedgehog was giving orders to a lieutenant and that the latter didn't tell him to piss off?

O'Brian's former captain in "The Wounded."

And I would've liked to have seen more of McCoy's love interest in "Shore Leave." She and Bones had a nice, easy chemistry.

(Sorry. I'm too lazy to look up the names right now.)

And, of course, Gary Seven and Roberta Lincoln go without saying . . ..

Hmmm. That was the thing especially about TNG I think, often the guet characters were very interesting people you really wanted to see more of.

TNG:

Jono/Jeremiah Rossa (Suddenly Human)
Ambassador K'Ehleyr (Emissary/Reunion)
Dr. Selar (various episodes)
Crewman Simon Tarses (The Drummhead)
Ensign Sonya Gomez (Q Who)
Cmdr. Shelby (Best of Both Worlds)
Dr. Wyatt Miller and Ariana (Haven)
Jil Orra (Chain of Command)
Jason Vigo ( Bloodlines)

DS9 (a lot of Cardassians here, and I'm only up to season 4 with DS9, so there's proably more down the road):

Rugal (The Cardassian orphan from Cardassians)
Ulani Belor and Gilora Rejal (The two Cardassian Scientists from Destiny)
Vedek Bareil (various episodes)
Shakaar (the Bajoran rebel leader from Shakaar)
Marritza (the Cardassian war criminal from Duet)
Natima Lang (the Cardassian teacher/rebel from Profit and Loss)
Pel (Quark's business partner from Rules of Acquisition)

Voy:

Annorax (Year of Hell)
Lt. Stadi (Caretaker)

Vedek Bareil? Really? I thought he was one of the most boring characters of the whole series, even his mu counterpart was insufferable.

He stuck out to me because he is like the "fresh new wind' type for Bajor's religion vs. Winn's two-faced conservatism, so I really liked Bareil for being a positive and reasonable religious character in Trek, which are hard to come by.
If you look at Winn and Bareil from a religious perspective both of them are very interesting.

Doctor M'Benga (TOS)--would have loved more of him
Vanna (TOS--Cloud Minders)
Doctor Salar (TNG)
K'Vada (TNG-Unification)
Krim (DS9--Circle trilogy)
Vreenak (DS9) -- the best Romulan ever (sorry, Mr. Leonard)
