How about posting photos of all three to go with the question.

But I don't think either of them really look like Chris but that might be because it is the older Chris that is etched in my mind.

a little from column A, a little from column B. I always said that Tom Welling looked like Chris Reeves' baby brother, but then Brandon Routh looked like his slightly older, younger brother.

(Yes, I know that didn't make any sense!!)

Wow, your ears must work differently from mine, because I don't think Routh's voice sounds anywhere near Reeve's. And I don't think any of the three actors mentioned resemble each other in the slightest.

If anything, Tom Welling has a passing similarity to Christopher Reeve in terms of dialect. This is probably because they were both raised in New York and as a non-native of the USA, I find it hard to distinguish regional dialects!

I don't think any of the three actors mentioned resemble each other in the slightest.

Agreed, although Routh does (or did when he beefed up for the role) fit Reeve's physical profile and this was the intention of the director.

Well they do both have fairly high voices (as did Cain, for that matter).

Reeve could pitch his a bit lower at times, but he still didn't exactly have the deepest Superman voice.

He did indeed, which is why I'm still convinced he was hired for the role to begin with.

And if we're talking exclusively Superman actors, why has nobody mentioned Gerard Christopher. Now THAT guy could have been Reeve's brother.

I think Routh was clearly hired because he looked somewhat like Reeve, and Bryan Singer had this bug up his butt about recreating the Donner films.

I don't think Welling looks anything like Reeve.
