...that Jennifer Lien could act?

Just watched 'Warlord' this morning and she did a great job of being possessed by Tieran. This actually ranks as one of the more enjoyable Voyager episodes that I've seen.

Well, I guess that most of us knows that she's a very good actress. She has showed that in every episode in which she participated in seasons 1-3 of Voyager, most notably in episodes like "Cold Fire", "Warlord" and "Before And After". Even the rather weak "Elogium" was saved by a great performance from her.

Not to mention that she had a role in the quality movie "American History X" as well where she also did a great job.

And yes, "Warlord" is a great episode. One of my Top 5 Voyager favorites!

I've actually found the actress quite lacking in pretty much everything else I've seen her in, including American History X.

Rumor has it actors can have more fun playing the bad guy than the good guy and this was a role Lien really sunk her teeth into, imo.

I felt Lien really got better with age for as long as she was in the show. She didn't start out well, but in Season 2, you could see vast improvement and then she was pretty much at the top of her game in episodes like Warlord and Before and After. It's such a shame we couldn't enjoy the long hairstyle longer. :(

It IS more fun! :D:devil:

In telenovelas, good villains get paid more than the heroes.

Me. She's a great actress, and her voice is magic..

There was a rather dire sitcom called "Phenom", and she was fantastic in that, and so I knew her name when VOY's cast was announced. I liked her work in "Voyager". I can't believe they put her in the terrible wig she wore in "Caretaker", when her own hair is so beautiful.

The disappointing thing for ST fans is that her extreme shyness away from the studio cameras means that her convention appearances are dreadful flops. People understandably expect that she'll be at least as gregarious as other ST actors, but she turns into a dazed zombie who looks like she can't wait to get back to her hotel room. One wonders why she kept agreeing to do more conventions if they were so traumatic for her.

I hadn't heard about her before she did show up in Voyager but I was impressed by her acting skills already from the start.

Kes's speech to the elder in "Caretaker" was brilliant.

As for her hairstyle, I like the short haircut better.

OK, she looked great in long hair too but it made her more average, just like many main characters we've seen before in other series.

The short hair was sort of trademark for the character, it was special for Kes in a way.

Warlord is one of my all-time favourite episodes of Voyager ever, and it doesn't even have the Borg in it, so that should tell you something about just how much I like it! :bolian:
