Anton Yelchin's Chekov is by far my favorite. He wonderfully follows in Walter Koenig's footsteps. It's great that this new movie made me fall in love with that character all over again. I really hope we'll see more of him.
My feelings exactly. The whole theater had a lot of fun with his character throughout the film. And I loved his hero moment. (All of you calling him a Wesley Crusher? For shame!) It was just heartwarming, such good fun.
All things considered, I still had to vote Chris Pine (
Salvor, couldn't you have given us, like, three options to choose? Please restart the thread!

) As I could tell from the first clip of the bar scene that was made available recently, the movie itself confirmed that he owns the essence of this character. And every now and then, he manages to get an ever so subtle Shatnerism in there between the lines. I totally believed him as Kirk. This is how you do a lead role in a sci-fi summer blockbuster (take note, Hayden Christensen!) Great job!
My third option would've been Bruce Greenwood, who I always liked. He has the charisma, the presence, the look that just says father figure/leader. I was glad Pike survived the film because I want to see him again in another one. But only if he's in the wheelchair
