Who is your all time favorite President of the U.S. (not a poll)

Everyone, please, keep this civil. The intent - intent - of this post for me is to see if there is any general "consesus" of ATFP.

I don't want to know why. Why? Because I want to keep this thread open and in Misc. So PLEASE PLEASE just post your answer and not why. I know this is a message board and open to responses, I'm just asking please.

That said..

Bill Clinton

Also, I would request, if you're willing, to post you're age with your answer. Nothing more nothing less. It would just be interesting to see some choose a President not within their teen/adult lifetime.

That said, I'm 35.

I'm also 35 and my favorite president would be Thomas Jefferson. He believed that government was necessary to protect the well-being of citizens, but should be limited so as to prevent tyranny. I wish I saw more people today who shared his outlook, but usually it's one extreme or the other.

Ward, I've gotta say that after reading that, I actually would like to hear why people think what they do.. I guess what I'm wanting is for no back and forth debate, to let opinions be heard in an open atmosphere and for this thread not to devolve.

Give em hell, Harry S. Truman, 48.
Truman is also a good choice. He made some really tough decisions, not all of which I agree with (though I certainly wouldn't have wanted to make them), but he owned what he did and stood by it for better or worse. The buck really did stop there. He left office deeply unpopular and rather poor for a former president. He was offered jobs on corporate boards but felt it was unseemly to profit on the office of the Presidency. He sold off family land to make ends meet and the Presidential pension was created on account of his dire financial straits. Truman had integrity, so he was a great president.

Wilson and Truman are both overrated and created the situations we are currently in.

Myself, I personally like Roosevelt but Polk is another one as well.

Theodore Roosevelt.
Seconded!

I'm 25.

As to my reasons why, it's Theodore Fucking Roosevelt! My reasons should be clear. The man killed a grisly bear with his bare hands... when he was five years old.

Also, he once arm wrestled Chuck Norris. It lasted three weeks, and he won. He was seven at the time.

I truly believe the national parks and services we have today wouldn't be the same without Teddy...Hell a lot of them wouldn't be here. Or at least a lot smaller.
