Who is the Master?

Who is the Master?

I voted for Ainley, as well. He'll always be the first person I think of as The Master. I always think of him, in that black velvet outfit, just positively oozing evil out of every pore. Although, I have to say that John Simm did a damn fine job with his crazy-ass version of the Master, too.

Simm because he's still fresh in my mind.

Currently the Doctor is Tom Baker, because I just finished the Key to Time.

Ainley was the first Master I saw (on a rerun of "Logopolis" back when my local PBS still ran Classic Who). I've never seen Delgado's or Roberts' master. And while I enjoy John Simm's portrayal, I think the stories he's been in have been halfway rubbish.

Simm was the first Master I saw and while I think he's good in the role, his stories have been awful to mediocre at best in my honest opinion, though I prefer Delgado anyway.

Jonathan Pryce from "The Curse of Fatal Death."

I'd love to see him play the role again but in a serious episode.

I haven't voted, because while I like Simm (and Jacobi and Roberts), when I think of The Master, I do tend to think of a slightly OTT bloke with a pointy black beard, snarly smile and demonic stare. I haven't seen enough of either Ainsley or Delgado to be able to pick one over the other but The Master in my head is basically some weird amalgam of the two.
