Who is the Gretest Trek Movie Villain?

Hartzilla2007

Vice Admiral

I want to Know who you think the Greatest Trek Movie Villain from the following selection is the greatest and why.

Mingzon the Merciless. Using a DEATH RAY, uh, Thalaron device to destroy Planet Earth... that's pretty merciless.

I really liked that villain who had a troubled past connection to one of the crew, made dramatic 'deep' speeches, quoted literature, and died trying to save their evil masterplan.

Which one was that again....

Ru'afo, simply because the character reminded me so much of myself. Not only am I possessed of superhuman physical vanity, I also tend to shriek not unlike a little girl being slowly lowered feet first into a vat of high-molarity sulphuric acid whenever an underling tell me something I do not wish to hear.

You too, huh?

Maybe this should be "Who is the Greatest Trek Movie Villain Besides Khan?" I mean, come on....

Vejur was a villain, imao--or at the very least, an antagonist. Along one axis of greatness, he beats Khan easily. Still, I'd have to vote Khan for sheer delicious scenery chewing.

I can't seem to edit this for you, Hartzilla... You might have to talk to the administrators if you want the poll edited... Sorry... :o
BTW.... KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN! He's crazy and his name is fun to yell... :)

Pretty much sums up the Star Trek movie villain equation. I do think this list, however, should include:

1. Vejur/Ilia-Probe.
2. The Whale Probe.
3. Lursa and B'Etor.

My vote would probably go to the Whale Probe. After all, who the hell would want to carry on subspace communication with a bunch of whales anyway - that's right, evil space whales!

It's a pity no subsequent films showed the Evil Space Whales allying with George and Gracey and making a bid for galactic power. That way they could rip off Moby Dick completely shamelessly for once.

Khan's the obvious one isn't he?

Personally, just to be different, I'll say Soran. As antagonists go, he probably had the most human of motivations. He just wanted to get back to his wife and children. A shame he had to kill millions of people to get there though......

And that made absolutely no sense. Why doesn't he just fly a ship into the Nexus? Well, as Data said, because all ships that did that were destroyed.

Hold on a second. How did Soran get into the Nexus in the first place? On a ship, that got destroyed. Indeed, Kirk got in there by having only part of a ship destroyed. Soran says his way is the only way, but that's manifestly untrue and makes him come off as an idiot. Sadly, not the only one...

Still, McDowell does give a good performance and I liked the whole 'time is a fire in which we burn' theme of the movie.

I can't wait until 2009 to vote in this.

2008 should have been the end date could someone plese tell me how to fix this thing?
Since even the mods seem stumped, I imagine they wouldn't mind if you started a new one. You could even start a new one in the middle of this thread.

Loved that myself :) I thought McDowell was fantastic throughout, a perfect foil for Stewart.
