Anakin whines with low level self pity and entitlement, even after receiving Jedi training. More actually. One of a handful of the most powerful people in the known Galaxy, and he's still whining away.

This whiny, self-centered, arrogant bastard deserved everything he got. He had everything handed to him on a silver platter (apart from a nice family situation) and he managed to spoil everything,

He had talent, a gorgeous girlfriend/wife, a very close friend (Ben Kenobi.. not the Emperor ) and was on the fast track to promotion and may have had a breakthrough when he exposed Palpatine as a Sith. However he wasted it all afterwards.

and that's exactly why I like him and ROTS. it's perfect; the deconstruction of The Hero, the Chosen One. good stuff.

Definitely Anakin. Luke's whinyness was almost only that one power converters line. Anakin was a crybaby even to the very end of the prequel trilogy.

If you watch his deleted scene with Biggs (which I happen to have just done for the first time), he really seems quite responsible; the same things he later argues with his uncle over (staying for the season, etc.) he defends to Biggs, who, though older, treats Luke as an equal - and who notes that Luke is the only one of their circle of friends reliable enough for to trust with is plans to defect to the Rebellion. Complaints about Luke whining might have been fewer if the scene had been left in.

I think that the biggest whiners are the fanboys who complained that the sequels weren't exactly what they were expecting.

And being a whiner (be it about Padme, not getting to go to the Academy with Biggs, or George Lucas' sequels) is clearly a path to the dark side and ultimate downfall.

But of the two, I would say that Luke was the bigger whiner.
