I WANT TO SEE REAL NUMBERS!

(prohibited: math nerd jokes about whole, irrational and/or imaginary numbers)

He's been given everything his whole life. He can't imagine a world where he doesn't get his way. So if he doesn't get the Presidency handed to him, then it's clearly rigged. He thinks it belongs to him by default, so now matter how many votes Hillary were to win they have to be stolen from him.

His concession is meaningless whether given or withheld.
His concession is legally unnecessary, but it's not meaningless in terms of adhering to tradition and reassuring the public in the wake of an extremely stressful and contentious election. A candidate who actually cared about the state of the nation and more than their own bruised ego would want to do that, but seeing as how it's Donald Trump, I don't think he gives a solitary concern for anything or anyone other than himself.

I just voted. Everything seemed quiet and peaceful at the polls. They were prepared for an onslaught of voters, with 15 check in counters, and 50 voting carousels. I mean, granted my town only has a population of roughly 10,000 (new census data, apparently we've grown!), but everything went smoothly and I was in and out inside of 20 minutes. I got to meet the Democratic candidate for State Representative, who was very nice (I voted for her), and people were passing out GOP voting guidelines, but things were peaceful, no one seemed to be intimidating anyone else. In fact, people seemed cheerful.

My brother in Florida just told me that more people voted in early voting in Florida than in the huge debacle that was 2000, and that the Latino vote there has doubled from 2012. If that is true...wow.

He thinks it will be a Hillary smackdown -- 350+ I'm more conservative in my estimate -- 300. But I would love to see Latinos repudiate Trump in record numbers nationwide. That would be glorious.

Hasn't he already bucked decades of tradition by not releasing his taxes?

I have a few things to say to all you Americans...

If Hillary wins, yay!

If Trump wins, welcome to Canada! Enjoy your complimentary bottle of maple syrup.
No disrespect meant to Canada, which is great, but if Melon Mussolini pulls out a win I'm not going anywhere, because I have to vote against the Republicans who helped put him in power in the midterms, have to put pressure on my state's Senators and Representatives to oppose any of his regressive policies, and have to protest whatever illegal or immoral actions or policies he will take in office. You don't abandon your country when things get difficult.

It ain't over 'til it's over, the fat lady ain't sung yet. But these are surely interesting times. And a bunch of other misquotes I can't think of at the moment.

So Nixon didn't release his tax returns either? Hmm…
He did eventually, after he was already being audited by the IRS.

In the meantime, the I.R.S. reversed itself and decided to audit Nixon’s returns for the previous few years. While the audit was underway, Nixon buckled to public pressure in December 1973 and released five years of tax documents. He also asked a congressional committee to review, among other things, his gift of the papers.

Which puts the lie (again) to Trump's repeated contention that he can't release his tax returns while under IRS audit, since that's what Nixon did.
