If all goes well for Hillary, then she's announced as president-elect at 11pm EST, when polls close on the West Coast, bringing in a windfall from California, Washington, and Oregon.

If things are touch-and-go, it might hinge on Ohio and Florida being really close, and we might have a call around 1am or 2am.

If Donald Trump refuses to concede because he's on the phone with Karl Rove who does a repeat-performance of his Ohio denial from 2012 on Fox Noise, or just refuses to concede because he doesn't recognize any of the election results and says something stupid like "I want a FULL recount! Can't trust 'em, folks. Can't trust 'em. We have tremendous support all over the whole nation, let me tell you. There's no way we can lose unless CROOKED HILLARY RIGGED THE WHOLE THING!!!!"....

....if that happens, then perhaps there will be a night of drama.

Will there be a "Florida 2000" situation? I doubt it. Unless there are serious voter-suppression shenanigans in Democratic areas, Hillary should have this in the bag.

Should I get some popcorn ready?

I'm optimistic. I'd say no popcorn needed. Unless news breaks tomorrow that widespread hacking is disrupting vote counts nationwide.

Then yes, get popcorn. And be afraid, like you're watching a horror movie play out.

Primarily because that's what it would be on all fronts!

I hope not? I can't really say. All I can tell you is what I hear from the people voting for him. They talk about getting angry, "watering the tree of liberty," and other bullshit, but I hear that kind of talk all of the time, and nothing ever comes of it.

Honestly, that talk of the tree of liberty. They need to remember Jefferson had an agrarian society in mind, with simple muskets where some folks could get rid of a tyrannical government without potentially ruining many lives. It's impossible today. Actually, It has been impossible since the late 19th century.

Its a bit of an echo chamber in here but I don't believe the extremely negative stuff said is true about most of the people who are voting for him. I expect he'll concede, and there's no difference in the chance for rioting in either outcome.

Almost everyone on both sides are good people. Watch out for the elites who try to convince you your fellow citizen is a bad person. I'm personally not at all concerned, feeling pretty awesome right now.

"Elites," my ass. Trump supporters have proven that they are hateful and dangerous.

I will do everything in my power to ensure that, regardless of the outcome of the election, such people will have as little influence and control over the trajectory of American politics and society as possible.

When they feel like behaving as decent human beings again, they might be allowed to sit at the grownups' table.

'Make Amercia great again!' Great for whom? When was America ever great unless you were white, male and middle class?

Utter nonsense. You've let yourself be turned against your fellow man.

I am against people who are full of hate, who want to oppress and injure their fellow human beings. I want to limit their ability to inflict harm on others.

Perhaps you feel differently.

I know everyone has their maximum level rage boner right now, but I've been out there talking to lots of people from both sides, and neither side has that many boogymen, and there isn't much hate, except for eachother based mostly on thinking the other side is full of hate. It's like a zen riddle.

"Lots of people"? I really doubt you did a better job than those pollsters, compensated for as many variables and bias as possible.

You want to do to them what you think they want to do to others?

Just remember, if you elect Hillary, she'll declare herself dictator, take way your guns and give them to gay Mexicans.......just like Obama did. Right.

Seriously, I not only want to see Trump lose, I want to see him lose so bad that this thing called "Trumpism" doesn't rear its ugly critter-coiffed head for another generation.

Sooner or later, a Republican will be elected President. I just hope that by then the party will have recovered its sanity and remember that the defining characteristic of conservatism is supposed to be prudence, not dickishness.

Yup. A narrow victory for Clinton will show the GOP that Trump and others like him are viable candidates, his supporters will be convinced that they can win if the election isn't rigged by Crooked Hillary, and we'll go through the same shit again in another 4 years. Trump needs to lose and he needs to lose badly. I'm hoping that Clinton's stronger ground game and "moderate" Trump supporters getting cold feet at the voting booth will allow Clinton to outperform the polls. I'm not sure how realistic that hope is, but I'm sticking with it.

I hadn't seen the phrase "watering the tree of liberty" until I saw it in this thread, but it invokes for me imagery of Trump supporters pissing on their front lawn, or anywhere they like, with a cheap beer in their other hand.

Maybe you should actually pay attention to what others are saying.
