Interesting piece.

"The last six days proved Donald Trump is dangerously unfit for the presidency. The problem isn’t that Trump is cruel, though he is. The problem isn’t that Trump is boorish, though he is. The problem isn’t that Trump is undisciplined, though he is. The problem is that Trump is predictable and controllable."

Clinton will win, although I suspect the margin of victory will be more narrow than what she would be comfortable with.

And one more: The New York Times has gotten hold of a few pages of Trump's old tax returns. Yay, NYT!

It's an indictment on our flawed tax code more than it is an idictment on Trump. The article itself states that Trump committed no wrongdoing.

The Trump camp is threatening legal action stating that the Times broke the law by releasing those records without his consent. This could get very interesting.

OK. But one of the Trump campaign's biggest messages has been that he is an expert businesses manager that can handle the complex US government better than anyone. But if that's so, why did he lose a billion dollars running the last business operations he actually managed day to day? (I'm not counting his latter-day business of simply selling his name to properties and businesses owned and run by others.)

There have been PLENTY of examples that refute Trumps claim that he's a great businessman. They were reported ad naseum during the primaries. I mentioned one in this thread not long ago. Trump's only success has been keeping himself famous by convincing everyone that he a shrewd busibessman. He's a con artist pure and simple.

The sad fact is that people are so angry at Washington and career politicians that they are willing to ignore all that. We saw it here in Florida when Rick Scott became Governor despite his scandolous past. Mistrust of politicians and the media now "Trumps" inconvenient facts.

That kind of thing has happened here as well. We had this in our last election cycle with the conservatives winning office after dumping their leader, for a more "presentable" leader that could actually string two words together. But the party hates this guy and now they are stuck with him. None of their policies are unique or progressive to any degree. But yeah same kind of thing as you guys.

Legality is only one of the issues.

He says (correctly, and in agreement w the other candidates) that the US has to invest more in infrastructure. But, apparently, this investment is going to come out of only our taxes, not his. That's hypocritical, at best.

He says paying no taxes shows that he's smart. What an insult to all the people who work hard in jobs that don't allow for the easy manipulation (legal or otherwise) of tax law! All the people who devote theselves to making the world a better place -- the teachers, the nurses, the LEOs of various types, the researchers, etc. -- instead of to making the most money they can are, according to Trump, dumb.

As others have asked, how and why did he lose so much money in the first place? His alleged business acumen is much of his justification for saying that he is qualified to be POTUS. But this confirms once again the suspicion that many of us have had all along, that he is in reality not that great a businessperson after all.
