Who is 'Future Guy'?

Sela with a voice modification!
( Just a shot??)

I've often thought that Future Guy was Sela. The whole situation is sneaky and underhanded like we've come to expect from Romulans, but full of Sela's personal brand of megalomania coupled with not thinking everything through all the way. (Plus, like others, I could have sworn I saw a pointy ear in the silhouette.)

I say that Future Guy was a Section 31 agent who got access to time travel technology and took pre-emptive action to an extreme in his effort to negate threats to the Federation.

He tried to start a civil War in the Klingon Empire. Maybe the Klingons would eventually threaten the Federation. (Or maybe Future Guy was originally from Kirk's day and couldn't shake his prejudices.)

He gave Archer crucial information about fighting the Xindi, who were threatening to destroy the Earth.

The worst thing he does to the Enterprise crew is frame them for the destruction of Paraagan II. But who knows? Maybe the point was not to frame Enterprise, but to destroy the mining colony. Maybe the Paraaganians would become a big threat to the Federation in the future, or whatever they were mining would someday have been used in a devastating weapon against the Federation.

Enterprise relaunch authors, you heard it here first!

If future guy was Daniels, then he was tring to purge his unwanted and hated Klingon half by killing his own father. He could have been Romulan too.

I've given up on wondering who Future Guy was. My two personal favourite theories were a Romulan or an evil, parallel universe Sam Beckett.

And Karnbeln, I love that avatar!

I was the one who personally asked Brannon Braga and Manny Coto this question at the Las Vegas Con and he said he had talked to Berman alot about it and it would probably be a Romulan. As far as I'm concerned it IS a Romulan. :)

A Romulan was the most predicatably lamest possible person it could be, so...

We could do something new...or just mine the most boring enemy race in Trek history this side of the Kazon.

It seems today
that all you see
is Star Trek in movies and none on tv
but where is that good ol' fasioned technobabble
on which we used to rely

lucky there's a Future Guy
lucky theres a man who positively can do
all the things that makes the franchise
stall and die

He's. A. Fuuuuutuuuuure Guuuuuy!!

The Romulan theory made sense from Day One. Elements within the Empire in the 28th century(especially now in the wake of the destruction of Romulus in 2387 as seen in the new movie)want to change the distant past for the better, allowing Romulus to emerge victorious or with a distinct strategic advantage over Earth/the Federation as well as the Klingons in the 22nd and 23rd centuries, changing history to let the Empire possibly be THE dominant power in the quadrant. Future Guy tried to use the 22nd century Suliban to achieve these ends.
