Spoilers Who is Captain Lorca?

Unimatrix Q

Found an article with a really fascinating theory that the Captain Lorca we've seen so far is actually

from the Mirror Universe and was brought to the Main Universe by the Tantalus field

The points they make in the article make a lot of sense imo.

Ooooooo Interesting. Link to the article?

Hmmm..... Didnt cross my mind.
But yeah... Nice theory.

Yeah, I had similar thoughts when I saw Cromwell said that he was different before the loss of the Buran.

It's not impossible.

I'm calling it right now actually - Section 31 are well aware of the existence of the mirror universe, know how to access it, and are totally willing to recruit from there if necessary

In the novel continuity it was actually confirmed that S31 knew about the MU since the 22nd century.

It´s possible, but I don´t think that Lorca comes from the Mirror. Well, when the first episode with the focus in the Mirror Universe comes online, I think we can have some thoughts about this theory.
In my mind Lorca is becoming similar to Garth of Izar... He has psychological troubles, it is clear.

Anyway, he is one of the most interesting characters of the show, no doubt. For me, at least for now, Michael Burnham character is a bit "without salt and without sugar too".

It's possible, and may be a way of explaining how he survived his ships destruction - he didn't. His mirror counterpart took his place. Maybe he wanted to escape his universe and had had trouble adapting to ours.

In general, I really hope it's not the case and we can have an interesting flawed character in Star Trek who is actually just interesting and flawed instead of being something weird and supernatural to 'explain' it. But I'm trying to reconcile this so far quite straight laced show with the spoiler about multiple mirror universe episodes.

I don't think so.

Well, at least I hope this won't be true. Not everyone on this show who is somehow morally ambiguous can be a Klingon in disguise, a Romulan agent, someone from the Mirror Universe or a Section 31 operative. I hope Lorca is just a dude who has a different approach, because he's seen the horrors of war.

I wonder how many people gave up at the sixth spoiler :D And how many just hit reply to cheat

Interesting theory! I do really like this character. Regardless, I think he knows exactly who Ash Tyler is. I don't know myself, but suspect Lorca does. He also has some reason to keep a somewhat cowardly Saru as his first officer. That to me sticks out like a sore thumb now that we know just how damaged and intense Lorca is.

He's another one of those TOS captains that went mad. Weren't there like three of those in TOS?

Just like captain Decker he was the only survivor after losing his crew.
