Who else has a cold?

An Officer

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Started feeling really bad last night, first signs were being upset for no reason at all and quite teary, then a tight and sore throat, my legs started aching pretty badly, and I felt nauseous when I tried to do household chores. So I finally went to bed with an effervescent vitamin C and a couple of paracetamol tablets. :(

Who else here is under the weather? And what have you been doing to get well or cheer yourself up?

Myself: endless green teas, a few sprays of my beloved Acqua di Parma perfume - always lifts me up, and coconut macaroons for breakfast - only thing I have an appetite for right now. :-/

Get well sweetie :)

No cold here, but I have my own achy cramps of the month to deal with.. depressingly enough needing sodas (which I had given up on) and chocolate..

Thanks RJ .:) Hope those aches pass quickly, Aurian - those can be just as bad as a cold, if not worse! Strange time of year for me to come down with this. I was supposed to help my cousin pick out a custom corset today. I have a good excuse now. :p

Mh. I have a sore throat too today, hopefully it won't develop into anything major.

Get well soon! :)

Hope you feel better soon, AO. :) Get plenty of rest, drink plenty of water, take whatever painkillers you feel will help out, don't forget to eat, and Remain Indoors™!

I'm feeling OK myself, but we'll see how the next few days pan out.

Me me me. Second child brought it home to share with the rest of us. Which is odd, because if my wife catches a cold, I normally don't, and vice versa.

It's a nasty sumbitch too, really hard to shake, makes my back muscles ache abominably, has me gobbling way too many ibuprofen/codeine for my liking, and keeping me awake 'til 4:30 am. This on top of a lot of other crap I have to deal with is just making me miserable.

Hope it's over soon.

I'll pass you some germs if you pass me some tea. :D

I have more than enough to go 'round, madam. Oh and I'll pass you something, alright. :D

Have to go out. Nothing for lunch in the house. Gonna' pick up a couple of chilli con carne at a nearby place. Why do I crave spicy things when sick? Odd. Oughta' get dressed soon.

You felt some cold symptoms, too? :( Will send out good thoughts that you continue to feel well.

Aww. If you're all sick, then you won't have anyone to take care of you! Crap luck. Get well soon! Hope the rest of the stuff gets sorted out, too. :)

Am sure they'll gear you out with industrial strength face-masks and gloves! You'll be safer than the rest of us in that case. :D

I haven't had a cold in 2 or 3 years, I don't tend to get them anymore and I attribute that to a vit C every day. I used to get colds all the time, but then when I had my wisdom teeth pulled they made me take Vit C tablets to boost my immune system in case of infection. I continued to take them afterwards and have not had a cold since.

I do have a throat infection mind, but I have very scarred tonsils from recurrent tonsilitis as a teen, i get them all the time to the point where aggressively painful sore throats no longer really bother me, I just pop some Diclofenac Sodium and forget about it.

Because a) you can actually taste them and b) spicy clears up the congestion.

Anyway, I think the last time I had a cold was winter of 2003 when I was working outside. I attribute my consistent good health to half a pack of cigarettes a day and a diet entirely devoid of vegetables that aren't carrots or corn. :bolian:

No I don't feel under the weather because if I ever feel cold or flu symptoms coming on I do one thing........................ I take a capsule of Extra Strength Oil of Oregano (5 drops into the capsule). After that the symptoms go and I never even fall ill.

I have been keeping my hands obsessively clean the last 3 years and taking believe it or not airborne during cold season. I havent got a good cold in almost 5 years. I was getting 1 or 2 a year for several years. I also avoid people with colds to the point where my co workers get annoyed with me. It has worked though. The worst I have gotten was a 2 day sinus infection.

Get well soon!

As for me, in the middle of June I got this really annoying sinus infection and it's still not gone completely. Right now I feel some rather irritating pressure in my nose area. The fun thing is that my doctor told me that this might very well last for three months or so and during this time I will be especially vulnerable to all kinds of infections. Meh!
