I personally would like to see Garth of Izar eventually but who would you like to see as a villain?:klingon::borg::devil:
By the way the poll should say "XII or XIII", so post which film you would like to see your villain in!

*wants more than one*

I'd like to see most* of the alien races make an appearance at some stage. None of the specific characters though, IMO they should have new ones.

Also, I'd prefer different main villains for 12 & 13.

* except the Q. Please, no Q.

The reason I voted for Garth was because I like the idea of one movie setting up a federation captain as a hero, than in the next see that captain betray Kirk and the federation, though it doesn't have to be Garth necessarily, the concept would work.

By the way seigezunt, I love your devil Spock avatar it fits with the humor of TOS and how Spock's appearance was supposed to be interpreted:lol:.

Romulans.

Go for that third consecutive attempt in a row...

...but this time, for the Great Bird's Sake, get them right.

Somebody please force JJ Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and the rest to watch key episodes featuring the race, and I hope they realise what they threw out with the bath water.

From Enterprise - Babel One/United/The Aenar

maybe scan through Minefield and sample The Forge/Awakening/Kir'shara

From Star Trek - Balance of Terror and The Enterprise Incident

May as well take in The Next Generation - The Enemy and The Defector.

I'd like to see something NEW that is well-written, dramatic and expands the characters. I'd like to see if the Orci and Kurtzman can come up with a new alien race that will be the new BORG...something scary, something dramatic...something epic...a "villain" or menace that challenges the crew while on their 5-Year Mission!

I'm also not interested in another "We're the only ship in the quadrant" story...

I'm not interested in seeing a return of the Klingons, Romulans, etc...unless they are a minor part of a bigger story.

Bingo. The Rommies of XI were generic villains. They could have been any race.

I want to see the Cardassians as Allies as this is new universe and the Kelvin getting whacked leads starfleet to explore in their direction, they help them with their resource issues, and they decided to not invade Bajor.....

They did Mention a Cardassian drink in Star Trek 2009.....

Then the Bajorans Rise to power and they are the Villains.... Dun Dun Dun.......

McCoy:
Space is disease and danger wrapped in darkness and silence.

I hope they explore this theme in a new Villain Species...

Someone new. Having said that, it might be cool to see out and out badass Klingons again, after all this time. When this movie comes out, it will have been 20 years or so since they were last the big bad in a Trek movie (TUC).

The Horta, except they turn out not to really be villains. Unfortunately, "Devil in the Dark" is pretty much already being remade presently. It's called Avatar.

Gary Mitchell would have been a good choice, if he'd been at all set up in 11.

I wouldn't mind seeing modern, big-screen versions of the Gorn or Tholians.

Someone new.

"Known" characters could & should be present but it shouldn't be about them. No 'attack of the *insert Prime Universe Villain(s)* here', please.

I'd love to see someone new--because I think that would be a better story.

However, of all the Trek baddies who've a) stayed baddies and b) never got big-screen treatment, I think the Cardassians have the best shot at really being proper movie villains. The Romulans and Klingons are a bit played out over 40+ years, whereas the Cardassians are underutilised, and we've never seen them during the 2250s before (and we know from ENT references, and STXI that they're a known quantity in that era).

I've been thinking that Garth would be a good villain and present something we haven't really seen in a Trek film, Starfleet against Starfleet, when they are playing for keeps. We got to see a little bit of a conspiracy in TUC, but the main showdown was between the Enterprise and that BOP. I would love to see two Starfleet crews match wits with one another. I would love to see Kirk go against someone he admires, someone that might be a lot like him but made some tragic choices that turned him into a villain. A cautionary tale for Kirk, something to make him a little less puckish.

I think Garth could be a great Khan-level villain and using him wouldn't result in any major comparisons to the more iconic Khan and Ricardo Montalban. There's a lot you could do with Garth and a lot more different places you could go with him with less chance of screwing it up and dishonoring what came before.

Some other potential villians, the female Romulan commander from "The Enterprise Incident", M-5 computer, Janice Lester, or Finnegan. Bringing Mudd back might not be a bad thing either if they wanted a lighter movie. And there's Kor, Kang, and Koloth. If you want a villainous species, I would love to see the Tholians or the Gorn. I think the FX are there now to do both of them justice.

Of course they could just create a new villian whole cloth.
