I just watched the "Cold Fire" bit where Kes hears Neelix getting a haircut. Neelix is complaining (to himself) that the barber isn't doing a very good job so this would seem to support the idea that it's an actual person rather than a holodeck barber.

Well somebody was giving Janeway all those bobs, buns, and hairstyles. Unless... Unless Janeway was Voyager's hairdresser!!
Think about it. There were two Kathryn Janeways serving on Voyager. The captain and the hairdresser. There was some kind of mix up in admin and the wrong Janeway was asked to captain Voyager. She was too embarrassed to point out the mistake and just went along with it. The real Janeway was accidentally vapourised by a Terrelian sex worker three weeks earlier so no-one ever found out.
It all makes sense.
Maybe it was a holographic barber on the holodeck.
I want to know what happens if you use the toilet in spacedock. Does everything get squirted out the side of the ship?
It reminds me of a trip I took to ride the old time steam train in Durango, Colorado. The toilets on the train had signs that said not to use them while stopped at the station. The reason being that if you lifted the toilet lid you could see the track below. No piping or tank. Just a big hole you pooped out of.

I wouldn't be surprised if Janeway walked into sickbay right after setting course for home in Caretaker, put an isolinear chip into some console and told the doctor "You now have the knowledge of 2000 doctors and my hairstylist, get to work!"

Wait, shouldn't this be in the "Where are the toilets" thread? I'm getting so confused.
Did we see the lid get lifted? Otherwise, it's just a seat. Or maybe brigs have to have to have toilets for reasons of cleanliness.

I agree. It was community service. then they realized he could kill them with the tools so they pulled him and put Crewmen Celes in that position as she had an knack for coloring aging people's hair with shoe polish and crowning the Captain with some serious helmet-head wigs. at least she was no longer being chased by algorithms Just hair spray.
it's silly they even touched on it in a book. and true they did. Kate's hair was up and down short and long in a half wig some episodes and none the next. it's obvious they can do follicle manipulation in the 24th century and end hair thinning and balding unless you opt to be handsome without hair. (eg picard, sisko, doctor, oh my) yayyyy.
