For me the 4th Doctor played by Tom Baker (there will never be another like him)

9th Doctor Christopher Eccleston. I didn't like all the episodes of his series but he was a really good Doctor

12th Doctor Peter Capaldi.

3rd Doctor Jon Pertwee as well

13, 15 also

I might add 12 on there too, but I don't really remember his seasons well enough to be sure.

Six (C. Baker)
Thirteen (Whittaker)
Seven (McCoy)
Nine (Eccleston)
Five (Davison)
Ten/Fourteen (Tennant)
Twelve (Capaldi)
Eleven (Smith)
Four (T. Baker)
Three (Pertwee)
Fifteen (Gatwa)
Two (Troughton)
One (Hartnell/Hurndall/Bradley)
Eight (McGann)

My Top 5:

* 6th Doctor
* 11th Doctor
* 2nd Doctor
* 12th Doctor
* 4th Doctor

To be clear I don't think there are any bad Doctors, and no bad actors playing The Doctor, although some of the eras are pretty bad for reasons unrelated to the actor playing The Doctor (the 13th's era comes to mind).

I will say, and again its not any actors fault, but my general irritation with RTD2 has definitely lowered his Doctors down the list. At one point I'd have had 10 over 4 but, as much as I like David Tennant, its hard to think about 9/10 without thinking about how poorly 15 was handled, and I've definitely grown tired of RTD tropes that I used to not mind and they now bother me in the old stories more then they did when I first watched Series 1-4.

I'd have to think about it, but off the top of my head, its the Eighth and the Twelfth, and if I had to specify, it'd be audio and tv respectively. Between them?

The Eighth Doctor.

I'm not the type to make lists of favourites. I also think we've been lucky enough to have a series of Doctors I, at least, enjoy, without exception. I'm also glad we have Big Finish so we can get more of the Doctors who didn't get enough screen time.

Agreed 100%. All of the Doctors we've had have been special in each of their own ways, regardless of the quality of writing or the duration of their run. I'm likewise eternally grateful for Big Finish to give us so much more of each Doctor, mostly with their original actor. That's simply extraordinary.

That said, it's rather obvious which one is my favorite, but after him it's Troughton, Smith, McGann, McCoy, Whittaker in that order.
