White self-hatred.... it's impact on mixed race people and families?

I was talking to a black guy once and he said "Whites always want us to "act right" to be more "acceptable", but President Obama came along and he was educated, a family man and made something of himself yet they racist came out of the wood work to bash him. It doesn't matter who a black person is, they will be hated on whether they are a criminal on the street of the President of the United States so why should we change to make white people comfortable?"

No charges were filed in the incident, but she [Dr. Agoucha] told 11Alive she believes the man should face some sort of consequences and is now considering taking legal action against him.​

He even had a white mother and white grandparents and the racist haters still treated him like trash.

Then if you don't mind, I'll just go ahead and close it down. No offense meant to you for starting the thread, it's just one of those ones where someone is going to cross the line eventually because of the subject matter. I'm just amazed it hasn't happened yet.

I think all the active participants got a chance to say their piece before it got bumped again last week. I had hoped it would just fade away.

For what it's worth and for the most part, it's been a very good and informative thread with individuals listening/reading what others have had to say on the matter.
