Hello!

As I failed to find the introduction thread  this will do.

Which was your first sci-fi/fantasy series that you ever watched (or think that was your first)?

I remember when I was a small, small kid :) I watched Red Dwarf, that was my first encounter with something from outer space, although more a comedy I loved it (true half of the jokes I did not understand at that time - but so didn't the TV that this was aired on since it was on with the cartoons and such - kids time haha).

The major sci-fi break for me was Star Trek - The Next Generation I became in love with sci-fi then and this love only escalated

So what was your first encounter?

I think it was DS9.

(not counting cartoons and stuff like that...)

Star Trek TNG

I guess I watched a few animated shows before that, but TNG was the first SF/F show that I really started to follow somewhat regularly, around the age of 9 or 10. VOY and some TOS started soon after that for me.

Star Trek, the original series, as a child.
Me too. I remember being very excited about the transporters.

The Jetsons was another of my favourites in these days. I really thought the future was going to be like that. I couldn't wait for the year 2000. By then, we would all fly around in those cute little pods and wear silver-coloured dresses. Or so I thought.

Oooh The Jetsons! I loved them. Although I had a late contact with them, since we were probably the only family in the block, em city who did not have cable TV lol (there was no need for more than 5 channels apparently :). I was glued to the TV when I went on vacation to my grandparents.

Me, Original first run of the Outer Limits age 3...I was too scared of the music, but would sit glued to the set with my hands clamped over my ears..couldn't get over the monsters.. I still love the series today and often run my favorite episodes off the DVD..

O.B.I.T. is particularly appropriate for modern times..

I've never actually watched a sci-fi/fantasy series. I just pretend to be a fan because all the kewl kids are. :shifty:

Cartoons aside, it was either Star Trek TOS reruns or 70's Battlestar Galactica.

My earliest TV memories are from when I was about 3 or 4 watching The Starlost and the Planet of the Apes TV series on first-run. I remember being bewildered when both shows stopped - I had no concept of "cancellation" and assumed the two shows would just keep running.

The earliest series of which I was actually a fan was The Six Million Dollar Man.

That's probably why I'm such a huge SF fan. Although I have snippets of memory of seeing other TV shows, only the SF ones actually stand out in that I can actually call to mind actual images and feelings from watching (in the case of Planet of the Apes I haven't seen a single episode of that series since it was first run, so my memories haven't been modified by reruns or DVDs, with the exception I saw the opening credits on YouTube and realized my memory of them was almost perfect).

Star Trek TOS, as a lad in the 70s rerun cycle, mostly on a Sony b/w TV about 6" diagonally. :D

Well, I was a child in the mid-1960's, so it was probably either Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of the Giants, Time Tunnel, or Lost In Space (sensing an Irwin Allen-shaped pattern here). Followed by Star Trek.

I'm not sure, which exactly was my first, but, I watched Outer Limits, Twilight Zone, ST: TOS, Land of the Giants, Lost in Space and Time Tunnel as a kid in the late 60s/early 70s.
