I just watched "Trials and Tribble-Ations", "Flashback", and "In a Mirror, Darkly" for the first time recently, so this is a perfect time for me to be asked this question. I agree that "Trials and Tribble-Ations" is the best of these episodes by a wide margin and my favourite episode of DS9 overall (although I haven't seen seasons 6 and 7), but I've got to give a lot of praise to "In A Mirror, Darkly". I was amazed by how awesome it was.

The only other Enterprise episode I've seen is "Regeneration", and after I saw that, I was so disgusted that I said to myself, "screw this show, I'm never watching it again". I'm glad I changed my mind for the two-parter, though. Scott Bakula came across as awkward and trying a little too hard in the first part, but really improved in the second part where his villainy became incredibly entertaining and convincing. Having just seen "Mirror, Mirror" and "The Tholian Web" not long before this episode, I thought it brilliantly connected with the continuity of them while also standing alone as a great dramatic and occasionally comedic piece.

"Relics" was not bad at all. I thought the conversation between Scotty and Picard on the holodeck was incredibly moving, and the talk Scotty has with Geordi about being an engineer at the end was also quite touching. "Trials and Tribble-Ations" has a better story and more fun moments, but this one was more emotionally stimulating. I really felt for Scotty feeling alienated in this new time period and like I said, I found his talks with the crew members very sweet. His scene with Data was very cute and funny too.

As for "Flashback", while "In a Mirror, Darkly" changed my mind about "Enterprise", this episode only reinforced my negative perception of "Voyager". I've always found it to be a dull and plodding show, with uninspired characters, and I thought this episode proved that because even with George Takei around to inject a much-needed boost of charisma into the show, it was still a bore. The only "Voyager" episodes I've liked are the Q ones, and I think they only worked because of the guest stars, which allowed the episodes to succeed in spite of the writing and characters.

With Relics as a decently close second, but only because I adored Jimmy.

Gotta be DS9. They had the cast of TOS in their prime and they managed to insert Sisko and crew into the picture without making it seem awkward.
Deep Space Nine does it again! And yet to this day there has not been a DS9 movie?

"In a Mirror, Darkly" is terrific enough to single-handedly justify Enterprise's existence. No matter what that show did, you gotta give them credit for that episode. Probably better than any episode Voyager ever did

I don't know if a DS9 movie would have worked since the characters have so much individual backstory that I can't see how they could get all the backstory out of the way for the "uninitiated" (for example, how could they explain the complicated natures of Dax and Odo to general audiences?) and still find enough time to tell a story. I think some cameos would have been nice, though. It would have been cool to see some of the DS9 crew aboard The Defiant during "Star Trek: First Contact" or have Worf introduce his wife to the crew during the "Star Trek: Nemesis" wedding. I know that chronologically Nemesis takes places after "What You Leave Behind", but they could have changed that, by not including the gratuitous Admiral Janeway cameo. I'd have much preferred a gratuitous Dax cameo. Am I making it obvious enough that I don't like Voyager?

I can see why people liked IaMD and I really did enjoy it myself. Scott Bakula hamming it up as Mirror Archer, Vulcan goatees and we finally get to see the Tolians in all their glory! That's what the mirror universe should be; over the top and proud of it!

The funny thing about "Flashback" is that in using St6 to recreate the beginning of that film from a new viewpoint, they only actually watched the beginning of the film. Because it was stated in the very next scene of the film that the peace process had taken 3 months not three days before they were ready to use the Enterprise to escort the chancellor

"T&T" - the rest aren't even close, although Scotty had some decent moments in "Relics," even if he was treated like a dottering old fool for most of the ep, which is how most treat the elderly here in the good old U.S. of A.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I think one of the reasons it works best as a tribute is because DS9 is more like TOS on many levels than any of the other shows.

I agree on T&T. but my fav non startrek tribute is south park, when the boy in the TOS red shirt gets off the crashed bus and, yes,is eaten by the monster.
