Lets assume that you are an average citizen in each Universe, or in the Harry Potter universe an average wizard.

Also let is know why you made your choice.

I'm thinking ST, too. I think it would just be an easier, safer, more fulfilling life.

Unless, of course, you're a Red Shirt. :vulcan:

I picked that I would rather live in this Universe

The main reasons for not choosing the other universes are

1) Star Trek - with replicators everything comes too easy. I think finally buying something after you have saved up for it makes the ownership of that item so much more enjoyable.

2) Middle Earth - Nice looking men but no computers.

3) Harry Potter - too many rules/laws. I would have to put up with the Ministry of Magic rules, as well as Muggle laws. Also magic would be far less fun if many others can do it as well.

I would like to live in Middle Earth. Now granted, I'd like to be an Elf, they seem to have quite a great life. :D

Star Trek comes as a close second, but I must say the allure of such a stunning natural environment as that of Middle Earth has a very deep grasp on me. I'll take plains and mountains and streams and lakes over a spaceship and outer space everyday. :)

I'll also take magic over technology. Somehow I don't quite trust machines that are that advanced. :shifty:

Of the ones listed, I would choose Star Trek, because it would offer the possibility of visiting many planets beyond Earth.

I don't think I would want to explore the universe. I get homesick when I visit my sister in Adelaide, I can't imagine how homesick I would be if I was billions of miles from Earth.

However, I would like the transporters from Star Trek. That why i could see the world but not be away from home for more than a few hours at a time.

I'm the opposite. While I love my home, I would be thrilled to visit new and exotic places, unexplored regions of space, warping from planet to planet and civilization to civilization, never quite knowing what will be next.

^ Oh, but you can do all that without leaving good ol' Earth, you know... We got plenty of different civilisations and different places and climates and traditions and languages, etc. etc. :p

Star Trek universe--but if I were required to go as my current self, I would find a colony somewhere, probably outside of Federation control.

Star Trek universe, definitely. I would like to see a time when medicine has moved forward and doctors have "put away their butcher knives", as McCoy would say!

I don't know. It doesn't seem to help people all that much. If you look at it mortality figures are pretty high in the Star Trek universe.

^Only for Starfleet members.

I would go for Star Trek universe. Everything else is within reach with Holodeck technology.

Geez l would prefer to live in Harry Potters world.

it would be full of magic and there would be something intersting happening around every corner.

Unless you're a Muggle, in which case you're the subject of frequent bigotry and ridicule and are a potential victim of disasters caused by a secret society you know nothing of. Good times. ;)

Of those choices, Star Trek wins hands down so long as you live in the Federation, but even they have some troublesome legal and ethical practices sometimes.
