Which Trek Character do you most identify with, and why...

Boldly Go, my fellow Trekkies, and expose your your inner selves...

..I will go first...

I have elements of Lt. Barclay, (uncertainty, self-esteem) Janeway (feminine side and drive) and Kirk (impulsiveness and hetero sex drive)

...no fair starting another Thread regarding Psychiatry.... :wtf:

I identify with certain aspects of Riker, of course. And strangely enough, Q, just don't ask me why. He's magical and mystical and everything, of course, so it's hard to say what it is I find so relatable about him, exactly. And, perhaps, some of Chakotay's spirituality. He's a man of deeply held, personal beliefs. I'm not really sure who else, at the moment, except for - maybe - Picard, before he got his mechanical heart. He wouldn't stop and say, "you know, I might break my neck on this thing!" he'd worry about it later and just go for it. I like that about him. Hmm ... who else? Yeah ... I guess that's it.

If I were to go by series

ENT: Reed
TOS: Spock
TNG: Data
DSN: Odo
VOY: EMH

Not that theres any pattern there. :p

But I suspect we could identify with parts of the various characters from each show rather than just one in particular.

Montgomery Scott (NuTrek). I'm clever, love technology, but made my share of mistakes too.

Barclay for the anxiety or Rom for being the dumb screw-up next to a more accomplished and brighter sibling

If we're mashing, add a little Worf to me. I'm honorable, love a good tale, my family is big on family history, and I'm tough when I have to be though I'm not as up tight.

I like to think of myself as a mix of Worf (a bit of an outcast because of my sexuality and religious beliefs--although not on Trekbbs) who values lineage much more now without my gods, who I didn't kill, but I feel like they never existed. I see myself as a little bit of Lieutenant Barclay. I identify with the "potted plant" parties. Hate parties. I have a little bit of Deanna Troi in my blood, empathetic and a counselor (studying to become a social worker). I have elements of Julian Bashir as I feel I have had to hide my intelligence around other people, whether that is justified or not, it's a fear that I have (being perceived as smart and ostracized for it. It happened in childhood.). Not that I'm a genius like he is, just feel I have to hide some things.

Ten years ago I would have said Laforge or Data--intelligent, socially awkward, etc--but the parent in me has taken over my personality. Now I'm Sisko all the way ... and maybe a little Rom.

Admiral Forrest, I think.

For at least two reasons: 1) My favorite actor (Vaughn Armstrong) plays him; and 2) he reminds me of my dad.

Lee Kelso...I've just figured out how to fix the warp drive and save the ship by cannibalizing some parts from the Delta Vega cracking station, feeling pretty good about it, then I get strangled to death by a power cable.

oh, and Mitchell, the guy that kills me, is the one that gets the "special mention" in the Captain's log.

So close to what happens to me in real life, it is scary.

McCoy. While I have a brilliant mind (heh), I tend to get overwrought in my empathy and compassion, and it can cloud my judgment on occasion, leading me to follow my heart instead of my head. It's most illogical. ;)

Actually, it is most human...in my opinion...

"Your pain runs deep...share it with me..."

Just as a side note, I loved the concept of Sybok, and I think Laurence Luckinbill did a terrific job.

...could not agree more! :vulcan:

A splash of K'Ehleyr as I have a bit of a temper, and very protective of my loved ones and tend to say what's on my mind, some Troi as I'm a good listener and people tend to ask for my advice, and those ever-present extras with no speaking lines as I prefer to fade into the background.

Oh my goodness, you could be my twin!
