Which Trek Books Did You Read In One Day?

The Quiet Place · Peter David Dark Allies · Peter David I read both of those in 2 24 hour periods last week. They just breezed past. I'll read the next NF book maybe in a few weeks. Have Open Secrets, Over a Torrent Sea, Spirit Walk Book 2, and then Full Circle to go. Plus I'll intersperse some of the mirror universe stuff as well.

I read the first two Destiny books in a day. The third didn't even last half that after i got it home.

Egads Man! Two books in one day?? Did you skim them or have some ability to speed read or something? I does bring a question to mind, have you ever measured how many pages you can read in a minute or 5 minutes or something?

If it's a weekend, and/or the day is devoted to reading, two books is not outside the realm of possibility. 800 mass market paperback pages at one page per minute (my average speed, YMMV) is about 13 1/3 hours of reading.

I typically choose not to read Trek books within a single 24-hour span, simply because I like to do other things in my day and space out the enjoyment. Of the current crop of books, those by Peter David and Keith DeCandido tend to be the fastest reads. The planet of the month books with 300 pages or less are also pretty easy to read in a day, but it does not mean that they are of any great quality, just that they're short.

Is that because of Mrs. Ward, or is it due to the strippers and blow? Nice biography page, Dayton. :)

Being a college student, unemployed (aside from working side jobs..) I have a lot of time to read. I do have a very good ability to speed read, and retain about 80-95% of what i read. I don't know whether to call that a blessing or a curse.

As an aside, I'd love to have something to do other than sit around and read. But unfortunately that just isn't going to happen any time soon.

The only one I can remember off the top of my head is the first Gorkon book: A Good Day to Die. I got really into the whole Klingon perspective on the universe without any pesky humans getting in the way. ;)

I have to admit being in the work mode for the last week, I miss the crazy reading I was able to enjoy over the 1 week April vacation. I pretty read most of the A Time To series.....This week I was able to read Death in Winter. Would love to keep reading at this level, but real life is just like gravity....
