Chapel had the most face time in the series, I'd like to see her worked into the movies. It could provide some interesting character interactions, too, if Spock and Uhura break up just before Chapel comes aboard.

Gee, which one wore the nurse's outfit again? On a serious note, I like the idea of Nurse Chapel, especially since Leonard McCoy is played by Karl Urban. It would be cute to have the two of them working together and see her crush on Spock peek out from time to time, much to Bones' irritation. And plus it would give Karl Urban more to do.
Carol Marcus should be definite "other" in that poll. I would recommend Olivia Wilde as Kirk's (future) old flame. She's intelligent, sexy and has experience playing a doctor.

I voted for Chapel, and I also think this scenario would be cute as long as it was brief and didn't cause any silly tension between Chapel and Uhura. I'd love to see it as something not too obvious, but a crush that people who've seen TOS can recognize. I can just imagine Bones rolling his eyes and huffing under his breath...
If she is present, though, I hope her crush on Spock isn't her defining trait. I would like to see her as an intelligent, efficient healer who doesn't waste time on swooning when there's people who need her care. With Jim as captain, McCoy needs a head nurse who's at the top of her game!

Why not? We don't know the chemistry between these two characters and their relationship beyond the fact that they're just a couple. What was their attraction for one another? Why does Spock pursue this relationship? Why was there no build up between these two?
I'm not opposed to the relationship at all, I just wish there was something there that justified the relationship rather than just having one.
Oh, Number One > Nurse Chapel. Since Star Trek has now blissfully confined itself to only one female character who's station is even more useless than any previous depiction in a series or incarnation, we now have this forum post asking which female character should be brought back. And which character do we want back? The freaking assistant nurse. Why? Is it because you want there to be tension between Chapel and Uhura for Spock's affections? Uhura is already reduced to the love interest of Spock and nothing more. I don't think we should add in Chapel just to make it more complicated. That idea alone just paints women in Star Trek as low key characters who don't hold positions of authority and care more about getting their man rather than doing their jobs in a professional manner even during a time of crises. i.e. Uhura leaving her station after she's been ordered to issue a planet wide evacuation of Vulcan that has MINUTES left before it gets consumed along with the entire population.
But that's ok. As long as we get the assistant nurse, everything will be so much better.

I'd like to see Number One, commanding the Enterprise's sister ship.
Chapel and Rand were annoying and almost hopeless characters in TOS. Heck, my favorite appearances of them were in the six movies, when Chapel actually became an MD, and Rand was no longer a Hooters Waitress.

Rand is the best option in my view because she can be updated easily to fulfill an action role whereas Chapel is going to be chained to McCoy's sickbay as little more than a foil for him. If they made the most of Chapel's scientific qualifications then maybe she could contribute significantly but Rand has unlimited scope. I want her to remain an nco though - I don't think every character needs to be an officer and in fact they need to feature a lot more enlisted crew. Nor do I think she needs to fill a love interest role as her primary purpose partly because we already have the Spock/Uhura thing to tick that box - more of a Tony Stark/Pepper Potts dynamic would be better - and save Carol Marcus as the next love interest if they really need one in my view.

As much as i would LOVE to see Rand, i think Chapel and her affection for Spock could be interesting, seeing as how Spock is interested in Uhura in this universe.

See, I'm not sure that would work. This isn't an ongoing series and they only have 2 hours to tell a story. Piling in multiple love triangles could slow the action down to a crawl. If Chapel can be used on a landing party it might work but being stuck in sick bay making moon eyes at Spock doesn't really do it for me. If they can build a comic double act with McCoy I think it would work better but we sort of have that already with Scotty and Keenser. I would defo trade Keenser for Chapel.
