There are only 4 seasons! This isn't Dr.Who where you have to pick which decade to start watching!

Watch it all, from Season 1 on. You won't even understand what they are doing in the first ep of Season 3 if you skip the last ep of Season 2.

Character development, as others have said.. well that's what Season 1 and 2 bring. You'll have no emotional investment in the events of Seasons 3 and 4 if you skip 1 and 2.

The probelm is - If you skip Season 2 entirely, you miss the setup episode for the entirety of Season 3 (aka 'The Expanse'). Plus, personally, I think season 2 is very good (yes, there's about 6 real klunkers out of the 26 - but there are some real classics by any Star Trek series standards).

Just get and watch all four ENT seasons. I you actually sat through all seven seasons of VOY - you're in for a treat because nothing in ENT sinks down to the level of pure garbage episodes produced during that series run.
