Which novels/series should I read?

PimpMario

Ensign
Red Shirt
I have seen all the series (except Enterprise) and movies and have never read any of the literature.

I would like to read some books after events of the series/movies. So post Voyager/Enterprise E.

I know that the Titans series exists, is that my only option? Best option?

Post-Voyager, there's the following novels:

Homecoming by Christie Golden
The Farther Shore by Christie Golden
Spirit Walk: Old Wounds by Christie Golden
Spirit Walk: Enemy of My Enemy by Christie Golden
Full Circle by Kirsten Beyer

For the year leading up to Nemesis on the Enterprise-E (with Janeway in a supporting role as an admiral), there's the "A Time to..." series:

A Time to Be Born by John Vornholt
A Time to Die by John Vornholt
A Time to Sow by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore
A Time to Harvest by Dayton Ward & Kevin Dilmore
A Time to Love by Robert Greenberger
A Time to Hate by Robert Greenberger
A Time to Kill by David Mack
A Time to Heal by David Mack
A Time for War, a Time for Peace by Keith R.A. DeCandido

Then after Nemesis, you've got the Titan series and the TNG series, which branch back together for the Destiny trilogy, then go their separate ways again. Here they are, plus some other not-in-a-specific-series books, listed in rough chronological order:

TNG: Death in Winter by Michael Jan Friedman
Titan: Taking Wing by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels
Titan: The Red King by Andy Mangels & Michael A. Martin
Articles of the Federation by Keith R.A. DeCandido
TNG: Resistance by J.M. Dillard
TNG: Q & A by Keith R.A. DeCandido
TNG: Before Dishonor by Peter David
Titan: Orion's Hounds by Christopher L. Bennett
Titan: Sword of Damocles by Geoffrey Thorne
TNG: Greater than the Sum by Christopher L. Bennett
Destiny: Gods of Night by David Mack
Destiny: Mere Mortals by David Mack
Destiny: Lost Souls by David Mack
A Singular Destiny by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Titan: Over a Torrent Sea by Christopher L. Bennett
TNG: Losing the Peace by William Leisner (coming in July)

Articles of the Federation chronicles a year in the life of the Federation president, deals with some of the fallout of Nemesis, and also introduces some characters who play major supporting roles in the Destiny storyline. The Destiny trilogy is a crossover involving the Enterprise and Titan crews (and a bunch of others besides), with A Singular Destiny being a general followup to the trilogy focusing on the galaxy as a whole.

That should get you started. :)

If I were you I'd read these books. IMO the Titan series is great, and while the TNG relaunch starts kinda weak, Q&A, GTTS, and the Destiny miniseries are awsome.

Thank you so much! Should I read the Voyager series before the others? Do they take place before?

I am suddenly really excited that the adventure will continue for a long time.

All the Voyager books except Full Circle take place before any of the TNG/Titan books. Read Full Cirlce after the Destiny trilogy as it has spoilers for those books and some of the TNG books.

Also related to these series are the DS9 Relaunch which takes place after the series finale and the IKS Gorkon series (later renamed Klingon Empire),. There are a few other novels which are related to these two series as well if you are interested.

I'd read the first four VOY books first, but don't read Full Circle until after you read Destiny and A Singular Destiny.

Read the Vanguard series and the IKS Gorkon/Klingon Empire books if you get a chance. Both are lit-only series and are awesome :techman:

I also can't recommend Vanguard highly enough, IMO it is one of the best Trek series to appear in any form. Same goes for Titan.

Though it is not post-TNG, I second the "Vanguard" recommendation. David Mack and Dayton Ward created a truly inspired series with "Vanguard." In fact, I've never been disappointed by anything I've read of Mack's—his "Destiny" series (which is post-TNG) is another good choice. The DS9 "Season 8" novels are good too.

^ While I appreciate the sentiment, Kevin and I had no role in the creation of Vanguard. That was Dave and Marco Palmieri. It's their world; they just allowed us to play in it :)

^ While I am touched by Dayton's (and Kevin's) humility on the subject, I have to give them credit where it is due. Although Marco allowed me to be the first to develop the Star Trek Vanguard series with him, Dayton and Kevin became our invaluable creative partners in the series. Some of its coolest ideas were either conceived by them or developed to fruition by their labors, and I am grateful to have been able to collaborate with them on it.

^ Aww, you guys are so cute... ;)

No but seriously, PimpMario, that's a great list KRAD posted, but you should definitely add Vanguard to the list. God. Damn. Awesome.

DS9 is currently taking place about 4 years before the rest of the post-series continuity; all those books KRAD posted tie together at Destiny in early 2381, but the main thrust of DS9 is in 2376 and early 2377. So, the DS9 relaunch kind of stands apart from the rest.

It is, however, absolutely incredible and every bit worth reading.

Take the comics out of this list:

http://memory-beta.wikia.com/wiki/DS9_relaunch

And there's your reading order. (Also, Lives of Dax and Left Hand Of Destiny aren't part of the main narrative and can be skipped without missing much. So can A Stitch In Time while we're at it, but it's...really good.)
