But which Mook is the bigger joke in terms of Threat to the protagonist, the B1 Battle Droid or the average vanilla Storm Trooper?

Yeah, the battle droids actually are used as comic relief, so there can be no question they are more of a "joke opponent" than the stormtroopers.
