My favorite is also the Enterprise D from Next Generation, like someone else said I totally feel that ship's my home. There's just something so comfortable about everything, and I also find her design to be just so beautiful. I just loved seeing those shots on the show of the Enterprise's outside, just amazingly lovely.

The ship had families on board and nice quarters on top of that. I always found that appealing.

Seems like the top contenders so far are the TOS Enterprise and the TMP refit, and I can't argue with that. The movie version might be a (slightly) more beautiful design overall, at least on the outside... but it's not an original, nor the original, so like Scotty in "Relics," I really have to go with the TOS ship as my first love. (And I have always preferred its interiors... no other bridge set has the same magic as the original.)

The refit then falls in second place. I have no particular loyalties as between the interiors of the I-III version and the -A version in V-VI, so as far as I'm concerned the two are interchangeable.

In third place I'd put the Ent-C. We only saw it once, in "Yesterday's Enterprise," but it made a terrific impression on me at the time. It has graceful shapes and proportions similar to the original, yet you can see the design evolution toward the -D. In contrast to at least one poster upthread, I think it's beautiful.

After that come the ships I'm merely indifferent about. The Ent-D, the NX-01, and any other minor variants go here, in no particular order. They're okay but I feel no attachment to them.

After that come the ones I actively dislike. This would include the Ent-B (I agree with the quip that the Excelsior design looks like a tube of toothpaste someone squeezed too hard), the Ent-E (simultaneously shapeless and over-designed, basically John Eaves all over), and any version of the Kelvinprise, especially the first (similar problem to the -B, plus those awkwardly bulbous nacelles).

Enterprise D - as that is first trek I watched. Also, have the bridge set on STO, plus I now use three nacelle Enterprise D from AGT, as it's awesome ship to fly around, when I play the game.

I also have the TNG Enterprise-D Bridge on my Galaxy-class on Star Trek Online! Now, if the question had been which ship would I most like to command, the Galaxy-class would've won out for me. That is the ship I love the most on a personal level. :)

This is complicated.

I grew up on TOS.

I adored the Kirk movies, whose refit had managed to roll power, grace, and art deco all into one.

I initially disliked the 1701-D. Ignore how it was 1987 and TNG started out really badly... Looked like someone made a model of 1701-A and then stomped on it and then shoved a (pure 80s, spoon gaggingly-worthy) neon tube in where the deflector dish ought to be. But the use of windows and color, it grew on me, and some camera angles did give it quite the sense of style and grace... it did win me over.

1701-E is what I voted for as it's got the sleek, look, power, art deco - the best of 1701 Refit and 1701-D rolled into one. Or at least what their offspring might look like. Despite the glorious design being hampered by such horrible scripts. And despite the yellow deflector dish (whatever happened to blue?) And the weird old style shuttle bay doors in the far back, that one still baffles me but it's okay.

And despite there being no "All Good Things..." 3-nacelle option, which really does the 1701-D some amazing justice as a battle cruiser you don't want to mess with and would have looked spectacular on the big screen, though I had read somewhere that the "D" had cast rewally ugly shadows if filmed from certain angles so I can see why they scrapped it entirely. But the "E" and the 1701-D ATG version just do it most for me. 1701-Refit (1979-84) being next.

Kelvin's edition looks like the hull got infected with cellulitis and became all bloated and icky.

For me it's the D , I grew up on TNG so that one will always be my first enterprise. I agree with other too who say it feels more homey then any of the others.

Second would be the NX01 , Enterprise really grew on me over time and I like that NX01 wasn't always superior to everyone they encountered.

Third would be the TMP Enterprise. first one I ever saw on the big screen :)

While I do like the kelvin verse ships someone up thread said it best, the movies treat it like a disposable prop; Kirk doesn't Love his ship, he just captains it. Since none of the crew seem attached it's hard to care as an audience member. ( I guess Scotty did mention wanting to get his hands on her , but that's the only time I can think of )

The TMP Refit. I never saw TOS until reruns in the 70s. I liked TMP well enough, but it was TWOK that really cemented me into being a Star Trek fan.
As much as I loved TNG, I wasn't too much of a fan of the ENterprise-D. It didn't seem enough like a ship, and more like a luxurious hotel.

It hasn't been around long enough to call it 'my' Enterprise, and I know some people will try to excommunicate me from this website for posting this, but I really like the Discovery Enterprise. It kind of looks like there was some sort of temporal anomaly that fused together the original design with refit, with a little NX-01 sprinkled on top. I think it's gorgeous. Yes, I know, all of you hate it. That's fine. Not trying to pick a fight, but for me, I see myself moving closer to that one.

BUT... I grew up with the refit design. When I hear the name 'Enterprise', that's what pops up in my head. So we'll probably have to go with that for now.

I really want to select the NCC-1701, but I'm going to vote for other and say the S.S. Enterprise UEV-47/U.S.S. Enterprise XCV-330 the exterior was shown on the rec dec in TMP and I'm actively designing this ship right now. So it feels more "mine" than any of the other ships.

TOS or TMP, it's a very tough decision but I think for me TMP Enterprise is a gorgeous redesign while TOS is a beautiful design so TOS it is. TNG Enterprise a close 3rd for showing where you could take a simple idea.

Oh, I like what I've seen so far. It's an Enterprise that still looks like the TOS ship but changed just enough so it fits in with Discovery. I'm just reserving final judgment until I've seen the interior.

.

I agree that the ship looks great. My biggest problem is simply it isn't the exact same ship it's supposed to be from the time of The Cage. Continuity like this is just one of my hangups. It is FAR SUPERIOR to Abrams' version.
