Which franchise had the ''COOLER'' ships?

Star Trek ''or'' Star Wars? Personally I would go with...WOW! that's a tough call, even for a die-hard trek nut like my self! Wars has the X-Wings, Y-Wings, Tie-fighters, Star destroyers, The Millennium Falcon and many more! But Trek has The ENTERPRISE (NX to 1701-J) The Klingon Bird of prey, D-7, K'Tinga, Negh'Vor, Romulan War birds, various starfleet ships, and much much more! It's just so hard to pick. The ''WARS'' ships I think are more fun, but the ''TREK'' ships are more like works of art if that makes any sense?

Star Trek had the better ships for something that I'd wanna' live on for a long period of time.

Star Trek - for sure. There's something about the design of Federation starships that I absolutely love. Star Wars has some excellent designs, no question about that, and I don't like some of the Star Trek ones (like the Enterprise E) but overall - I'm giving it to Star Trek, mostly for the Federation ships - so majestic.

Both of you have good points! T'Baio I agree on the ''hot rods'' something you can take for a spin!, I myself would love to pilot a Y-Wing, it would be a dream come true! However federation ships and dare I say even the Klingon & Romulan ships have a certain majestic feel and beauty to them.

I think the vehicles from Space:1999 were the best. The eagle is a fantastic looking spacecraft. The other earth designed ships, with their design cues taken from the eagle, also looked great.

Between Star Wars and Star Trek, I prefer Star Trek.

Ya, sorry about that, but I was going to put B5 and many other shows, but I just figured put ''other'' and let you guys explain.

In my opinion Babylon 5 had some of the coolest ships, especially the Shadow and Vorlon ships.

While I'm not a huge fan of the series, Star Gate has had some pretty kick ass designs, namely the Asgard, the Ori and the human ships.

Battlestar Galactica.

Galactica herself was beautiful... and watching from the opening to the end, you see a real continuance of dings and singe marks from her constant battles with the Cylons.

The Vipers, Raptors, Raiders, and Basestars all looked cool too, and just the immensity of the Cylon Colonyship and the firepower it had was staggering.

Oh, and the ringship in the RTF wins, handsdown.

T'Baio nailed it. Star Wars unquestionably has the "cooler" ships, but Trek has the ones you'd want to spend years of your life on. Hot rods vs. luxury cruise liners.
