Fortress mode can be used more offensively. The Ablative Batmobile armor is just the ship turtling until the threat goes away. Fortress mode is Leroy Jenkinsing into a situation, pulling all the dangly bits in, and firing everything it has in every possible direction for as long as the reactors will allow.

So they need to blend both modes/tech into each other.

So you can armor up and fire everything at the same time =D

And have Shields + Armor + Weapons & LeRoy Jenkins your way into a fight.

First off, thank you so much for including the FASA choice in the poll. My favorite is the Nebula-Class, because it’s the best of everything… it’s huge, it has the powerful engines and weapons of the Galaxy, is expandable for a wide variety of missions, has excellent science modules and suites, excellent sensors, and a huge complement of shuttles and auxiliary vehicles, which can be used to augment science and research remotely.

Why, the "Citrus Class," of course (as exemplified by the USS Limeball).

The "Candy Class" (e.g., the USS Lollipop -- it's a good ship) is a close second.
