Which fanwank idea for Lt. Galloway returning to life do you prefer?

Dale Sams

I mean this isn't like Lt. Leslie....Galloway was vaporized fer Chrissake.

1) The Omega Glory planet REALLY does confer immortality and he 'got better'?

2) The 'Day of the Dove entity' was OCD about making the sides perfectly even, pulled his pattern out of the transporter
buffer and reconstructed him.

Twin brothers or cousins.

Ross played Johnson in "Day of the Dove," not Galloway.

"Turnabout Intruder" sucked for all kinds of reasons, and he simply should have been called Johnson in it.

Two different people, with eerily similar names (Galloway / Galoway) that happened to be played by the same actor, much like Leslie and Connors were.

Hey, you asked...

Galloway brothers. The surviving brother's full name is Johnson Galloway. :p

"Omega Glory" takes place after "Turnabout Intruder". But before "All Our Yesterdays", which with its highest stardate is the series finale.

Wouldn't the trendy thing be to make him a zombie?

Evil transporter duplicates. Exo III androids.

Lt.Johnson had darker hair than Galloway as well! So why did they make such a mistake of resurrecting Galloway in Turnabout? Did they really think we wouldn't notice?

Upon receiving the bodies of the three officers, the Enterprise scanners found that Galloway indeed had some weak signs of life and a transfusion helped. Or something like that.

To return Lt.Galloway to life would have required weeks at the transporter console, and with his molecular code in the buffers they could have tried to resurrect him but I doubt they would have thought of that back then! Scotty was reanimated in TNG the same way! I wonder if David L.Ross is still alive?

This is a non-issue. The character Ross plays in "Turnabout Intruder" is never called anything but "Lieutenant" in dialogue. The only basis we have for calling him Galloway is that he's billed that way in the end credits, but the end credits are not part of the actual story and are capable of error (for instance, billing Roger Perry in "Tomorrow is Yesterday" as Major Christopher rather than Captain). So as far as actual in-story evidence goes, there is no mystery. The guy in "Turnabout" was Johnson.

Nah. It was Khan's Magic Blood.

Yes, they did. We look at the show much more closely and MANY more times than the producers ever imagined. ;)

While Christopher solved the issue as far as the show is concerned, I am still bothered by this. I can get that maybe the production crew might miss something, but I'm surprised the actor in question doesn't say anything. Certainly, he's in a better position to remember. Just a "hey, maybe we should use a different name because that character died." Maybe he's happy he has a job and is worried if he points out he died, they might go with somebody else but, by the time they're on set, that seems unlikely.

Also, more importantly, if they care enough about continuity to remember the character's name, it isn't too much to expect them to remember the character is dead. After all, they got that far.

Lol.

"That's right, we killed you. You're fired. Hey Lt. Leslie, c'mere! You're playing this role now."

(Eddie Paskey walks over wearing a fake glasses/big nose combo)

"No problem boss!"

Re: Which fanwank idea for Lt. Galloway returning to life do you prefe

^Actually Leslie's the one this thread should be about, since he was killed off in "Obsession" and back on his feet a week later. And unlike Ross's character, he was identified by name as Leslie after "Obsession." (There was going to be a scene in "Obsession" where the dead guards miraculously revived after the cloud creature was destroyed, but it was cut.)

Sure, why not? After all, the planet's amazing properties even mutated Capt Tracey's appearance so that he appeared to be the spiting image of Dr. Simon Van Gelder. So what can't the planet do?????
