My favorite Star Trek film is still TMP(1979) for the production design etc.
Star Trek Discovery "Such Sweet Sorrow part 1 & part 2"(2019) has forty years separating it's production designs from Star Trek:TMP(1979).

I begin with TMP because it was the first major redesign of TOS Connie bridge. The poll is your opinion on the redesigns.

as i like the update on the tos bridge , but i do love any USS Enterprise NCC-1701 or 1701A bridge

Abramsverse.

Familiar, yet different at the same time.
This, but I'll say the Beyond version, with less spotlights. Makes it look like a much more comfortable work environment.

Followed by STV. Pure comfort. Nice chairs, and carpet.

I've always been partial to the TVH bridge. TMP-TSFS was great, but it looked awesome with the white paint scheme and LCARS updates.

All stations aren't in the same place on the periphery in TMP and TWOK, so those aren't the same. And, yeah, it does matter, because the most noticeable difference is Spock's station (both location and configuration, which in TWOK call back more clearly to TOS), and it stands out.

Anyway, this is a radio button, and so I choose STV.

The thread poll is a serious case of apples and bananas, by the way. The first four options aren't bridges that are supposed to represent the TOS bridge in any sense, only to succeed it, any soft reboot-y indications in TMP and TWOK notwithstanding. Option 5 (nuTrek) is the only one that was designed in the context of "re-imagined TOS bridge." Option 6 (DISCO) was designed in the context of "updated TOS bridge."

The DISCO bridge ain't bad, but there are an awful lot of reflective surfaces.

IIRC, the reason Spock's station was moved between TMP and TWOK was simply to make it easier for Spock and Kirk to converse. In TMP, Kirk would have to turn completely around in order to talk to Spock (since Spock's station was directly behind the command chair), and thus in TWOK it was a lot easier.

Yeah, I didn't mean to sound like I was implying that the reason for the station move was just to make it more similar to TOS. Of course, the position of Spock's station in TOS made it easy for Kirk and Spock to communicate, so that's the (pardon the pun) logical position for the station to be. But the addition of the blue scanning light was a clear TOS callback, so it's evident that they were thinking in terms of what was done in TOS.

Couple of problems with this poll:

You listed the bridges for "The Final Frontier" and "The Undiscovered Country" as seperate bridges - even though it was the exact set, just with slightly different lightning. Whereas the bridge set of "Beyond" was a completely new (and different) built than that of "ST09"/"Into Darkness". Also, the bridge that appeared at the end of "The Voyage home" was the exact same "TMP"/"TWOK"/TSFS"-set, not even re-dressed. Basically - either create a new option for every single re-dress. Or put all variations of the same set into one choice.

Also:
Why isn't the ORIGINAL 1701-bridge from TOS (and ENT's "A mirror Darkly"), or the grey version from "The cage" on this poll?

Apart from that: Good idea for a thread!:techman:

I chose "TUC".
Probably the best looking bridge, that also looks the most functional like a "real" command center of a space ship. It doesn't look like a shiny set, has the right size, the right amount of working stations, the right amount of interfaces for each station, and absolutely the right look.

Because the thread title says TMP onward.

Was it? Looked identical to me except the lighting and the design on the transparent panels.

TFF and TUC are two totally different looking Bridges made from the same set redressed and not just different lighting.
