Might not enjoy it as much smoking an actual dried weed that has been cured, shredded, treated and stuffed into a paper tube? [scarcasm]Oh, that would be a shame![/sarcasm] ;)

But actually, now that I've started to think about it, would holosmoke also smell like cigarette smoke? And if so, would it leave your clothes and hair smelling like cigarette smoke, like the real thing does? Or would it smell like that only while you were in teh holodeck and then disappear once you left.

I am thinking far too deeply about this, I realize.

Holodeck safety protocols, just make the smoke non-lethal!

I don't smoke myself [/best Broca Voice] I was merely...answering a question![/best Borca voice]

I voted Sisko, he seems like an interesting enough guy, good to chat to with an interesting past and a good wit.

I would have voted Kirk but I'd always be worried he'd get drunk and start fighting me.

Only if you're a Gorn or a Klingon.

That makes me wonder if the holo-smoke in Vic's is a holographic illusion, or if the holographic people smoke replicated cigarettes. For example, if you wanted to bum a smoke from somebody, would the program let you? Or would the ciggs just be fake and the person be rude to you and tell you to scram?

Presumably it depends on the holo-person that you ask, remember these guys THINK that they are real people so some might let you have a ciggy and others would tell you to nafe off.
However the cigarettes in question are holographic and would therefor lack the potency and negative side effects of a real cigarette so there would be no harm to you but you might not enjoy it as much.;)

Well, I was assuming that certain people would react according to who they were supposed to be in the holodeck, and wondering if they might all be programmed to disallow a real person's holo-smoking to 'maintain the illusion.' The idea of the whole thing being holographic makese some sense. But, aren't some things in the holodeck that people are expected to touch actually replicated, hence how you can sometimes leave with them?

Also I might go for one of Janeway's Irish Holograms if it's set in a pub in either 20 century or early 21st century Ireland (although the 19th century would be okay) obviously it would be with chief O'Brien,Doctor Bashir and Ben Sisko with JLP thrown in as well.

As long as it's not as boring as those episodes were. :shifty:

See, that's what I was saying about the replicated stuff. Where's Mr. Sternbach when I need him...

Kirk is too much of a womanizer, Picard is intellectual but somewhat boring, and Janeway is stuck in the past. So Sisko it is.

Oh come now, how can you be TOO MUCH of a womanizer? Just not possible.

And that is why Kirk edged out Picard. I would enjoy a Dixon Hill adventure too, but Kirk would round up some hot Yeomans and put in a sim if Risa.

Fair Haven looks like a cool place. I could have some fun drinking with the townsfolk.

A baseball game with Sisko though? No thanks.

NAH kirk hands down... he gets all the women, goes to bed with them and does the wild sex thing with them *insert capt kirk screw music here*
and they are green, muave, alien, humanoid, changeling, scientific, etc etc etc... he even screwed an Admiral when he got promoted (vice admiral chiana until she was killed in the transporter accident in ST: TMP)
And yes doctor Marcus too, to get a son named David!) (killed in ST3: TSFS)

So he's laid his pipe in starfleet and even during the time between coming home and returning to starfleet after the 5 year mission (as seen in "Generations") where he told his gf he was going back...

Hat's off to "Diamond" James Kirk... The serious gigalo of Starfleet.!

Janeway because she is such a classy woman. I love her voice and everything about her, which was the main reason I watched Voyager in the first place.

Could I hang out with the other captains, probably not..........

Kirk is somewhat of a jerk, and a lifelong bachelor who liked to chase skirt. I would quickly tire of I. am. the. greatest. star. in. the. Universe . halting speech schtick. He hung around a humorless Vulvan and a grumpy old doctor to boost his ego. I'd rather hang out with Mr. Scott, drink his whiskey and listen to his stories.

Picard is a very straight laced, serious fellow. A very formal person. I dislike Shakespeare, and his occasional archeolgy girlfriend was annoying. Not to mention having Will Riker following him like a puppy dog everywhere. (I believe Riker had a secret gay crush on Picard, much like Smithers and Mr. Burns. Yeah, I know he was with Deanna Troi, but hell, that was Deanna Troi.)

Sisko has this, "I'm a proud black man..." type persona about him, which went out of date by his time 300 years ago. He spends too much of his time writing Starfleet complaining about the lack of "people of color" on his ship.

Archer is just a doofus. However, Hoshi is a screaming Asian goddess.

I voted Archer, he seems like he'd be the most fun. Archer would come up with a good idea for the event and help create a good relaxing atmosphere.

Kirk would be too smug in an activity and would make you hate him when he'd win. Picard would start talking about some social or moral conflict and spoil the fun. Sisko would have a little too much intensity and Janeway would make everything about her.

Let's be honest here. Picard is a great guy, but hanging out with him would be a lot like having a television that only picked up PBS.

"CULTURE SCIENCE CULTURE SCIENCE CULTURE SCIENCE"

I'd hang out with Archer on the holodeck.

Kirk is ... well, he's kirk - i can't stand him.
Janeway, Sisko and Picard seem as if they would choose boring holodeck programmes (Victorians, Dixon Hill, baseball, etc)

but Archer would be fun to hang out with. Plus he's the best looking, lol.

Considering that I participate in SCA (Society for Creative Anachronism) events in real life (basically, medieval/renaissance stuff) I'd most likely want to hang out with Janeway.

Sisko would be fun to play catch with, but I'd much rather be in a holodeck with Janeway, for other reasons of course.

I accidentally voted for Kirk, however I would go with Picard. I would like to stipulate that it would be a younger Picard(in his 20's or something), so we could talk about Shakespeare and Archeology while drinking really good wine, then go to the bar and get into a fist fight with some Klingons.
