Which captain has the most... enthusiastic fan base??

As to the original question I think it depends on where you are looking. Certainly on this forum Janeway has a very enthusiastic fanbase, in part because of the trashing but also because it's a huge lot of fun to be infatuated with her. Those of you not infatuated with her well.. I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe something fun will happen in your lives some day, do not give up hope.

The thing with Picard is--what is there bad to say about him? Do people even have big Tuvix style debates about his command decisions? I ask because I rarely poke my head into the TNG forum. It seem that there are reasons to dislike Archer, Janeway and Sisko, though Sisko is closer to Picard than to Archer and Janeway. Does anyone actually not like Picard? I count TNG as my least favorite series and I like him fine.

Thats a valid question. I'm a TNG guy. TNG forum, etc. And I can't think of anyone who doesn't like Picard.

Really? Could you please elaborate? I was rather annoyed half-way through this episode because I knew they were going to pull a "reset the timeline stunt." And sure enough, they did.

I don't mean I wanted Voyager to be more like that show specifically. The 70s show dad and his time ship was kind of dumb and I HATE the reset button that Trek loves to push. What I meant by this was that I just wanted the show as a whole to be more about Janeway making actual difficult decisions and seeing the ship getting more and more decrepit as the seasons went on. Kind of like BSG if you've seen that.

I saw someone mention Tuvix in here - what a joke that was as far as hard decisions go. Decisions like actual rationing of food and supplies, not this replicator ration shit and holodeck time. Really? They're stuck tens of thousands of light years away from FedSpace and they have enough power available to dick around on the holodeck? Fuck whoever decided that would be a good idea. This show should have had a lot of really dark moments and a lot more death and decay before they made it home.

I do realize that TPTB were responsible for a lot of the reasons this show sucked, but that really doesn't excuse it for sucking anyway.

Frankly, I hardly ever see her trashed. Usually I just see people say a decision was bad or that something or other was inconsistent, and it's the JANEWAY DEFENSE BRIGADE TO THE RESCUE

No, but Picard also never just murdered a dude for purely selfish reasons, so that would explain it. But in a general sense, aside from where the PD is involved, Picard's command decisions usually all make internal sense.
