I on the other hand just consider her a poorly written character on a poorly written show and thought she should have had to make many more and much more difficult decisions. That show was like a cakewalk through the Delta quadrant.
Star Trek: Equinox would've been a better show.
I actually always point to that episode or Year of Hell as how Voy should have been.
Really? Could you please elaborate? I was rather annoyed half-way through this episode because I knew they were going to pull a "reset the timeline stunt." And sure enough, they did.
You guys do know that Year of Hell was originally supposed to last an entire season, right? TPTP said no and they were forced to redo it as a two parter.
The reason why Voyager never lived up to its premise is that it wasn't allowed to. There was no tension between the fleeters and the maquis because the higher ups immediately told the writers/directors that they weren't allowed to do that.
Voyager failed its premise because it wasn't allowed to follow it from the get go.
Sounds about right to me Smith. I think Voyager was hampered by bad writing and a desire to emulate its predecessors in various ways.
Of course to make us feel better about Voyager we can always watch Enterprise.
