Which actor, based on his/her evillest role, would you seriously enjoy hitting with a 2-by-4?

No actor whatsoever. I would never wish to harm an actor just because of the characters he or she might play. I am capable of distinguishing between the actor and the character. I actually have MORE respect for the actor if I have a strong reaction of any kind towards the character; it is, after all, their job to make you feel something.

For instance, former actor Jack Gleeson seems like an incredibly kind and gentle young man. However, the character he played, King Joffrey on Game of Thrones, was one of the most despicable creatures ever on TV. I wanted that character to suffer a far worse fate than what actually happened.

I'd like to smack Kevin Bacon's character from 'The Following', boy was the FBI so stupid in that show.

However I would never hit Kevin Bacon though, he is just too awesome.

I completely separate the actor from his or her roles. So I would never want to smack an actor just because of an evil character that was depicted by said actor.

Conversely, if an actor is a real world-class jerk in real life, I don't let that have any bearing whatsoever on my enjoyment of the roles that he or she may play in movies or TV.

Worst than the FBI on Blacklist?

Have you watched The Following? I have only seen the first several of Blacklist, they are stupid, but The Following might as well just have Kevin Bacon as the only FBI agent and everyone else dead on the ground in red shirts.

Of course if you hit Kevin Bacon six other people across the planet feel the impact...

As for the OP, I would have said Joffrey originally, now I'd probably go with Ramsey Bolton though!

Intellectually you know the actor is not the character. But if I ever came across the actor playing Ramsay Bolton, I'd have trouble turning my back on him.

I remember seriously hating the evil, witch-hunting Reverend Trask on the original DARK SHADOWS tv series.

I never wanted to hit the actor with a 2-by-4, but I did relish it when Barnabas bricked Trask into a wall a la "The Cask of Amontillado."

If all witches were as evil as Angelique, I would have cheered Trask on. They were the characters you loved to hate. Thanks for that trip down memory lane.

Remember the William Lewis arc on L&O: SVU?

Although that one is mitigated by the fact that Pablo Schreiber is a frequent L&O actor and usually does not play roles as thoroughly evil as Lewis.

Actually, as far as L&O scumbags go, I'd have to say Gregory Yates. That's easier, because Yates was almost as evil as Lewis, and Dallas Roberts always plays total slimebags.

As I dimly recall, Trask had a bad habit of accusing innocent people of witchcraft, while overlooking the real monsters in their midst.

Speaking of Angelique, though, you may be interested to know that Lara Parker has a new DARK SHADOWS novel coming out in October. (I wrote the jacket copy for it not too long ago.)

Ralph Fiennes could be playing Jesus but he will always be that Nazi creature from "Shindlers list".
My mom refuses to watch poor old Mark Harmon in anything as she saw him play Ted Bundy in a TVs movie.
