Whether we like it or not, Its coming in December!

TOSTNGDS9VOYENT

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
In the end, thats what it comes down to. All the months of discussion and arguing won't mean a thing on 12-25-08. It will either confirm your worst fears, confirm your biggest expectations, blow away your expectations, or a little of all three.

In any case, you'll either like the movie or you won't. This movie will either resurrect the franchise, or just unearth its remains for a second burial. Maybe it'll just be a matter of getting used to something new. Maybe in the end, it'll solve all the canon problems and put it back on track for a new generation of trekkies. We can't expect this movie to be a purest movie. It wouldn't attract the general or young audience. Whats at stake here is not just our expectations, but business. Studio's are looking at their bottomline. Thats why they hired JJ. For a fresh approach. Now I can't speak for myself here since I don't know what to expect from this movie, but I'm going to keep an open mind.

Personally, I find all this pre-movie discussion to be the true source of entertainment. Regardless of if the movie rocks or if it sucks harder than my whore last night, I will remember these threads and discussions with fond memories and perhaps be entertained equally or more than the movie itself.

More. It has to be more.

I think it will be successful and here's why, Leonard Nimoy said: "It's going to reinvigorate the franchise."

I trust him to know what he's talking about in these matters of Star Trek.

Yes, Leonard Nimoy has never made a bad call.

Well said.

God, I've been here for eight years now and remember threads from my *first* year here. One that sticks out was from a poster by the name of Russell Christensen, titled "SPIRIT FOLK CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP!"

Ah, the Voyager forum. Those were *good* days.

What? :scream:

I know that I'm certainly having a frakkin' banner evening. It doesn't get any better than this.

And the thing is, that wasn't NEARLY the most entertaining thread in the VOY forum back then.

or better yet:
"In the middle of the earth in the land of the Shire
lives a brave little hobbit whom we all admire.
With his long wooden pipe,
fuzzy, woolly toes,
he lives in a hobbit-hole and everybody knows him

Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
He's only three feet tall
Bilbo! Bilbo! Bilbo Baggins
The bravest little hobbit of them all..."

But I'll bet those threads don't have anything on the stuff we're putting out nowadays. Between the bannings, surely you're finding amusement and joy in our banter, right? Maybe? Do you at least get a chuckle on occassion?

Oh yeah...I get *lots* of chuckles in here. Believe me! That's what makes this forum worth it to me! :D

I actually like it in here.

I mean, it's never dull, that's for sure!
