where's Dharma? (spoilers thru 5x07)

What about my second question, why do you suppose no one thought to seal themselves in the other stations to protect themselves from the Purge and the Others. Obviously they wouldn't be able to stay sealed indefinatley but they could assumedly stay sealed up enough to try and contact the outside world. We do know that there was a protocol for such an event in the Flame station. All it would've taken was for one Dharma worker to seal themselves in the Flame and get word outside.

Well if the Hostiles were as advanced and as well prepared as they seem to be, then they would probably have taken all of the other Dharma stations by surprise and then advanced on the compound after the stations had been taken out.

If there was no warning, then no one would have been able to have the time to seal themselves in anywhere and if other Dharma people were part of the Purge (not just Ben) then the Dharma people at other stations really wouldn't have a chance to save themselves.

In S4 "The Other Woman", we learned that the Tempest Station released the toxic gas across the entire Island in the same instant, so there would have been no chance to prepare. Everyone, except the Swan it seems, was exposed. In the originally filmed Ben's Dad Death Scene, he dies from the gas out in the middle of the field, but they changed it to Ben using a canister because they worried the audience wouldn't understand why he died. ... There's also the fact that a large number of Dharma employees had already defected to the Natives and were complicit in the Purge, setting up their brethren and making sure they would all die (which is why you can see a bullet-hole skull in the death pit of Dharma employees).
