Where would be your favorite Star Trek Setting?

Most every story has 5 elements, Character, Action, Setting, Problem and Solution...let's focus on "Setting"...where would you go if you could go to any of the settings for any of the Star Treks, and also please tell us why!

Preferably a Starship, not the biggest, not the smallest. The ship would be a few decades old and would have a interesting history stretching back before any of the current characters came aboard.

It won't be the "flagship."

It's missions would be in the out-marches of known space, on the edges.

:)

I'm very much in love with the future-Earth as depicted in Star Trek and Star Trek Into Darkness. I'd enjoy the hell out of a TV series set there (Starfleet Academy?)

I agree with T'Girl with my choice being the starship but it would be the Enterprise D. It has what it needs to explore the galaxy for long periods of time.

I loved the Northern Renaissance/Early Modern style of Barkon IV and the Akaali. And despite the hostile environment, there is something appealing of the look of the planet in The Ascent.

Heh, for some reason I always picture Wrigley's Pleasure Planet as being a kind of futuristic Disney World. Don't know why that is.

The gum thing... hm. Could that have been Trek's first product placement? ;)

NCC-1701, no bloody alphabet after it.

As long as I'm not in a department requiring a red shirt.

Spacedock One (circa Star Treks III-VI).

I would imagine it to pretty much be a big city in space, with both residential, civic, industrial, and commercial areas. And with a strong Starfleet presence, one could probably see lots of different starships there.

That's a thought, and reminds me of my childhood, when on occasion my father and I would go to the airport, just to watch the planes. Of course, that was back when you could do that...before everything sucked. :(
