Where was the Enterprise during the Dominion War?

That's true but it could also be true of other ships as well. Ensign Florx'x may have been thrilled to be assigned to the Lexington because Captain Spork save his planet from pirates. Putting the Enterprise up on a pedestal by itself is silly. Gene Roddenberry said that there was nothing particularly special about the Enterprise. Many other ships had adventures that were just as exciting. We just didn't see them.

That would make an interesting (but expensive) series. One, two or three part episodes, each one dealing with a different ship and crew.

Eh, just do what the original series did and make them all the same class, and it would be as cheap as beans.

"There's only twelve like her in the Fleet... but we refuse to see any of the other ships at all!"

TNG: The Dominion War Book 1: Behind Enemy Lines by John Vornholt
TNG: The Dominion War Book 3: Tunnel Through the Stars by John Vornholt

These were so lame and stupid. The Enterprise is in drydock the whole time, while Picard is on a undercover mission and Riker is banging some chick at the Starbase.

It's not lame and stupid if you're Riker. :rommie:

True, but I expected to see the Enterprise-E in action in the war, instead I got lame soap opera on a starbase.

Well, if it makes you feel any better, those books were pretty much ignored by the DS9 and TNG relaunch continuities.

^I think I remember reading somewhere that they were referenced in Shatnerverse though. I haven't read them myself though, so I don't know for sure.

They were indeed. Spectre opens with the Enterprise checking a space anomaly called the Goldin Discontinuity to make sure that the Dominion is not trying to make an artificial wormhole there like they were in the Badlands, since they have similar properties.

The part I never got (and this is from INS) was that the E-E was scheduled to take part in an archaeological survey...

An archaeological survey? In the middle of a war?

I thought that INS took place either before or at the end of the war, because they mentioned "Dominion negotiations". They didn't negotiate anything during the war.

I guess it is possible that Insurrection took place not long after the war ended (which would explain the survey mission). With no stardate given for the movie, it could have taken place after DS9's finale. Presumably it took place sometime during DS9's final season...

Worf was on leave from DS9 so it must have happened before he left to become the ambassador to Q'Onos.
