I was born in 1984. I'm 24 now and will be 25 in 2.5 months time. I started watching TNG circa the early/mid-90s and that's how my Trek fandom began.

Born in 76, watched TOS reruns after school, can remember when TNG premiered, mom let me eat dinner in my room with my tv! :bolian:

Expecting a son on June 27th, hope I can pass the legacy on...

Born in 1984. Have been 25 for almost a month now. Started watching Trek well, not sure really as I always have as far as I can remember

It's nice to see a poll where I'm not about to switch age brackets.

Two months shy of 30.

Also born in 76, making me 32.

I watched TOS in re-runs. In fact, Devil in the Dark vies with a Remington Steele episode as the earliest memory of non-PBS TV watching I have. (The first movie I watched on a VCR was Star Wars). I remember both looking forward to and being horrified at the thought of TNG, I liked it but don't think it has held up as well in the years following. Of the post TOS series I adored DS9 and consider myself a Niner. I also think that of the movies ST:TFF got a bum rap. ;)

I was born the year The Next Generation came onto the air and I graduated highschool the year Enterprise ended it's last season.

Born in '70. Grew up watching TOS re-runs and re-watched the first four films about 9 zillion times on the VCR. Officially became a Trekkie/er when I saw my first Trek flick (TSFS) in the theater. Became a die-hard, drooling fanboy Trekkie/er when TNG debuted.

Born in '64. According to mom, she would put me to bed while watching TOS. One of my earliest childhood memories is Kirk fighting the Gorn. I didn't understand it of course. I thought the Metron was an angel.

Mid-70's... TOS reruns on Saturday and Sunday early evenings. My very first book of any kind was Star Trek Log 1. TMP may not be the best movie ever made, but it will always have a special place in my heart simply because it was the first new Trek in a decade. I sat through the whole thing absolutely mesmerized.

TOS is king. :)

The 80's... I've heard there was a big controversy when TNG came out but I loved it from the very start. It had GR's fingerprints all over it. I loved DS9 from the start as well, though I recognized it as a "different" Trek with a different attitude. VOY left me cold from the very first episode -- it struck me as implausible to the point of throwing me right out of the story. Not a huge fan of ENT -- literally none of the characters did anything for me. And I have yet to see the new movie, though I will. Tomorrow. I promise. :)

I watched during the first run...it really was a long time ago..

I started watching the original STAR TREK series during it's first run on NBC television, and have been a fan of ALL THAT IS STAR TREK EVERY SINCE I was just 6 years old at the time. With, J.J. Abrams:techman: rebirth of TREK:), I think my kids might be able to enjoy something NEW with STAR TREK in the future.:techman: I think that Gene Rodderberry, would be very proud of what J.J. Abrams has done for TREK so far and may do for it's future as well.:)

26-32

Earliest Star Trek memories are of watching TNG on Sky1 in the late 80s/early90s and of the last 3 or 4 Star Trek movies with the original cast.

I remember having Star Trek II taped on two videos because the first video hadn't been rewound. To this day, every time I watch the film I can pin point the exact moment when the tapes needed to be changed (right after the Enterprise has sent the Prefix code and fired on the Reliant)

I watched the Original Series on the original run on NBC.

There are also some younger folks around.

Same here, I started with The Original Series run on NBC back on September 8, 1966 and I have been a fan of ALL THAT IS STAR TREK every since that day.:techman: I have very happy with the rebirth of TREK, thanks to J.J. Abrams, I'm hoping for a new generation of fans, and they will now find and enjoy STAR TREK both NEW and original, to The Next Generation:), to Deep Space Nine, to Voyager, to Enterprise, and to include all the other previous movies.

Im 25 so dont quite fit into any of the catagories. I started watching star trek during the original showings of TNG, I had a mother and aunt who were into trek so that's how I got into it.

Born in '79, and I'm quickly approaching 30!

I've been watching Star Trek since the early 80's. I seem to remember starting with the movies and then watching TOS, but my memory is a little hazy. I say that because my first ST memory is not watching Star Trek but anticipating The Voyage Home opening in theaters. Of course a year later TNG came out, and I that's when I was hooked. Probably why as much as it has it's flaws, TNG always shares a special place in my heart.

What I find interesting is that no one in my family is or was into science fiction, so I guess I just picked it up on my own.

The demographic make-up here is actually very good.
The 18-49 demographic is the most important in tv land and clearly Trek fans mainly fall into this demographic, 0-18s really aren't important so we shouldn't be too bothered by the lack of them. I'm sure a new tv show would be a real success if Trek fans got behind it.

One month away from 20.

I've known about TNG for as long as I can remember. I don't know when I first started watching, just that I had the playmates figures by the time I was 5 and I actually knew what they were and had seen some of it by then. I never saw DS9 or Voyager until they came to Spike as reruns.
