Where did this image come from?

It's not the cover image to issue 27. I believe it's from the novel excerpt therein. The magazine often creates new photo-composite art to illustrate the excerpts.

Yeah, they've done the same thing for characters from Vanguard and Titan too. If you go to Jaza's page on Memory Beta they have the image they used for him in a Titan excerpt. They also had images of Nogura and Cooper for one the Vanguard excerpts.

Ops, the credits said it was on the Star Trek Magazine and I thought it was on the cover. Wrong assumption. My bad.

Sorry, I'm just having trouble with the idea. Are you saying that you think they modeled someone else's hair for the image, or you just haven't seen her with that hairstyle before?

Hence my confusion on why you thought she didn't look like herself - I've seen that image as well.

Although, I'm somewhat surprised they didn't simply base the image off of one of the ones of her as Admiral Cain.

I often'd wondered about this - is it fine for a magazine like Star Trek magazine to take a photographer's image and photo-shop it like that or do they have to pay?
