I apologise if this is in the wrong section, but I was wondering where this image came from? Since it has the shoulder of someone else in it and a bit of Deep Space Nine (or Empok Nor) I'm assuming it's a novel cover.

I'm afraid so. I don't know if magazine covers have ever been re-used in novels.

It's not the cover image to issue 27. I believe it's from the novel excerpt therein. The magazine often creates new photo-composite art to illustrate the excerpts.

Yeah, they've done the same thing for characters from Vanguard and Titan too. If you go to Jaza's page on Memory Beta they have the image they used for him in a Titan excerpt. They also had images of Nogura and Cooper for one the Vanguard excerpts.

Looks more like Jordanna Brewster than Michele Forbes, but that's probably the hair and the expression.

Hence my confusion on why you thought she didn't look like herself - I've seen that image as well.

Although, I'm somewhat surprised they didn't simply base the image off of one of the ones of her as Admiral Cain.
