Where did all the future tech come from?

I noticed that tech technology shown in the Star Trek Discovery appears vastly superior to the technology shown in the original series. Like the interfaces and communication devices are holographic projections, environmental suits have fancy displays in them, warp drives appear faster, shuttles look better, consoles look like post TNG consoles. How did all of this happen? I suspect it had something to do with the temporal cold war and the future sharing technology with the past or perhaps Q later takes their technology away because the Q thinks humanity is advancing too quickly?

Because it is the 21st century and people wouldn't find TOS' tech believable anymore.

The transporter device works faster too. It's supposed to look like this but the uniforms don't match up either. Will the enterprise bridge look like this when they encounter it?

I think that the look of the tech is very, utility, not very neat or clean like you may see further into the future, though I would like there to be some more limitations on it's use, that's just an aesthetic thing really.

It was because Picard created an anti-time pocket when he converged the 3 beams from the deflector arrays in different time periods, after Picard altered the past by letting Lilly Sloan see all the 24th century stuff and Scotty altered the past by giving Professor Nichols the formula for transparent aluminum.

And the Temporal Cold War

And Daniels

And other stuff....because it doesn't matter really.

NX-01 Enterprise had a great bridge set with buttons that managed to look modern, yet still true to TOS. There was no reason for them to go full JJ Reboot with the Disocvery tech, aside from the CBS President wanting it.

Stuff like the walking holograms and whatnot, were just unnecessary. But maybe it will pull in the Star Wars audience.

That shit looked futuristic to me as a teenager in the 60s, Discovery looks futuristic today, what's the freaking difference?

I should really listen to the awesome phalangeriforme's wisdom and not post in this thread, lest I become part of the problem.
