My friends are aware of my final wishes. I do not want a memorial or funeral service of any kind. At least, not a religious one. I expect a party. Hell, i want my friends to roast me. I want to be cremated and have part of my ashes launched into space.
And since i don't have nor want to have, and dependents, whatever i will accumulate in life will go either to my spouse if he's still alive, or to my niece and nephew.

I figure most of you who post on this board are still pretty young and don't think about such things. When you're working full-time and/or have a family, it's good to plan for such things as life insurance, living wills, and beneficiaries. My friends at work (in their 50s and 60s) always tell me, "You should start saving for retirement." I'm thinking, "Why would I? I'm 20+ years away from retirement." As people get older, I realize they start to be more proactive in planning for the future. It just seems to come naturally.
Oh, yeah, life insurance through work. I do have that. Thanks for reminding me. 
My Mother gets half and the other half is split between my Niece and Nephew. Better not tell them that, though....

Well, probably depends on where you live! There's lots of space out here. I think cemeteries are great, because I can go there and remember. It's a place that I can associate with the person I love. Knowing that they'll still have a little place on this earth is a nice feeling. Plus, how can you diss golf courses?
Plus, if there is a bodily resurrection then I'd rather be in one place, instead of getting pulled together from all over the place. Might feel weird.

Yeah, I know. I've been a donor all my life, but after all the radiation and chemo it occurred to me that I should ask the doctors. They were unanimous in their advice. And I completely understand, I sure wouldn't want someone to suffer through a failed transplant because of me.
Hubby and I need to get a couple of things updated.
Re: golf courses and cemeteries...I used to agree, waste of space. However, they are both some of the only green spaces in some areas and the carbon dioxide/oxygen exchange is rather vital to putting off the final curtain as long as possible.

I am single and will likely remain so for the rest of my days. I have no children nor do I want them. I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I seriously think that, once I've grown thoroughly sick of this world (say, in a decade or so), I'd like to rack up tremendous debt on the most illicit acts and substances I can imagine (and enjoy) and then calmly blow my brains out. More likely, a heart attack will get me before then, though.

You should think of who you’d want to raise your children if something were to happen to both you and your wife. Many people over look this and the grandparents fight over custody. Now is the time to plan, you should include them in the planning too.
Need to update what I've got in place for us both. We've got a will, directive to physicians, declaration of guardianship and a mix of permanent and term life on us both.
We've each got two commas in our coverage amounts. If we die together we need a trust to hold the life insurance proceeds and the rest of our estate since our oldest is 8 right now.
One thing people miss is reviewing their beneficiaries on not only life insurance but other assets such as 401(k) as well.
