Where and when: Outside US and Canada

So, an apparently really great Star Trek show is out there, most people in the world have no chance to legally watch it at the same time as american and canadian fans and apparently no one cares enough to start a shitstorm because of it

Most people who really want to watch it probably are in one way or another.

As per their Twitter page, "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds will stream exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S., Latin America, Australia and the Nordics. The series will air on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel and stream on Crave in Canada with additional international availability to be announced at a later date."

So basically, yeah. Most people are about to get screwed.

No, it is Paramount that will get screwed. Do you think that international viewers will wait for the legit place to watch if they have to wait for too long? In order to everyone to watch Star Trek SNW in legit place, they have to be available internationally, or people will seek it via other means. And that will make Paramount get screwed.

SNW is such masterpiece that will be wasted if their fans watch it via torrent or other illegal sites worldwide just because the legit site is unavailable around them.

It would be their own fault. The mismanagement of the international rollout has been something to behold. Looking forward to June 22nd though.

If it works. If it isn't delayed. If it actually has all of SNW S1, Prodigy S1, Disco S4 and all the Short Treks (including the one those assholes left off the Bluray) on it. If going forward everything hits at the same time as the US.

At least The Orville is back soon. Disney+ are kindly dropping it same day as the US on Hulu. They're doing a better job of this than Paramount.

What the actual fucking hell bullshit is this?

Are we at least going to get new episodes within 24 hours of the US release? Because otherwise... they'll need to up my pay significantly to put up with this bollocks.
By Season 2 (and anything that releases after the date the service starts in a country); I'm sure they'll 'synchronize' release dates going forward (IE - When something premieres/drops on P+ it drops on that date/time everywhere P+ is available).

My guess is, they don't want their newest stuff all available to stream in a new territory within the 1 week 'free trial'.

My biggest worry is they'll wait for every series until all the european language dubs are done, adding months after the american versions.

National Amusements/Paramount were really quite stupid to abruptly pull Discovery off of Netflix worldwide at literally the minute, fucking over millions of committed viewers and their Paramount+ strategy with their other flagship Trek show, Strange New Worlds, being similarly scummy and tone deaf does not suprise me.

Paramount+ is moderately successful but continuing a terrible trend of cutting up the streaming pie for consumers (who are already starting to cut back on the slowly denuded, complacent Netflix).

And outside Trek, Paramount+ hasn't the near decades experience of Netflix, the deep resources of Amazon Prime or Apple TV, the artistic prestige of HBO Max, or the breadth of IPs as Disney+.

We should boycott them ;) That will teach them.

So they're pulling a Mandalorian, releasing episodes that had been out in the US for ages weekly even though all the spoilers/plot details are already out there just to eek out a few more months worth of subs.

At least Amazon were smart enough to realise with Lower Decks S1 that there was little point in holding back episodes like that.

I'll probably wait till all 10 episodes are out, and binge it with a trial or one month's sub since I doubt there'll be much else of interest, Disney+ was pretty threadbare on launch so I doubt Paramount+ will be any better.
