When will shooting for the new series start?

Timelord79 (he/him)

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Does anybody know? I'm eager to get to see early pictures from set like last year, when we got the one with River and speculation went wild. :)

I also might wanna go to Cardiff during my vacation to visit the Doctor Who exhibition and I have to admit, the thought of running into the actual Doctor or companion is difficult to dismiss. Anybody know what the chances for that might be? ;)

Well I believe that the Christmas Special starts shooting next month so logically one could assume that series six would start sometime after that if they intend on airing it next March again. Maybe the Christmas special will be shot in a block but most likely not.

I wonder if we'll get a preview of the Doctor's new costume in the Christmas special, or will they wait til Series 6?

Considering the special is set during Christmas, it only makes sense that the Doctor would bring out the new, warmer attire then...

here are also reports that the special could follow the tradition of “A Christmas Carol” and have ghosts of the Doctor’s past coming back. And yes, that means we could get a former Doctor back on-screen for the special as a ghost of Christmas past. Reports indicate that the series has put out feelers to Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, and David Tennant for the cameo.
I think I'm the most excited by this tidbit! I can only hope that it'll be McGann! I don't want Tennant because he only just left. I would love to see McCoy again but I much rather see McGann again.

Why not all three? ;)

Not Eccleston? :(

By the way, anyone else see this article?

Maybe they won't start filming next month after all! How can a script go missing - don't they have it safely stored on a hard drive somewhere with multiple backups?

Yeah, I would like to see him again, too, but of all of the surviving Doctor actors, I want to see McGann back the most.

I for one want to see McGann, Tennant, AND Eccleston back.

Me, too! But if there can be only one (whoops, wrong franchise), I'd like it to be McGann simply because he only got to be onscreen as the Doctor once, and I think Eight deserves another chance.

Precisely my thoughts. If possible, I would want all of the living Doctors to return, but if it has to be one, I want McGann.

Hmm, actually I'd quite like to see McCoy, I don't know I can just see him and 11 sparking off one another. That said I'd rather leave the past Doctor route until smith's had at least two seasons, and I certainly wouldn't want it to be Tennant, bring him back in 2013!

Whoa if any of those spoilers comes true I'll be extremely happy and I had a nice laugh regarding the lost script lol.

Of course you're both wrong. The Doctor who needs to come back is Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor. Oh, it would be magnificent!

Why not all three?

McCoy as Christmas Past

McGann as Christmas Present

Tennant as Christmas Future

As others have said, I'd rather see Tennant stay out of the limelight until the 50th anniversary, but either 7 or 8 would be awesome!

However, I could also see Colin Baker as Christmas Present too... :)

"So you see Amy, that's why bow ties are cool."

"Certainly cooler than you used to be, it's true."

That makes me wonder...is Amy really aware of the whole regeneration process and the fact that the Doctor she knows is only one of eleven incarnations yet? He didn't exactly explain to her in The Eleventh Hour just why he was acting all strange or anything...unless she deduced it through the Atraxi's slideshow...

Well Churchill didn't recognise the Doctor at first so taking that and the 11th hour into account she must have some kind of awareness that he hasn't always looked this way.

Then again in the Big Bang she thought he died, no mention of regeneration, even to say to River "He didn't even regenerate."

It wouldn't be without precedent for a companion to be unaware of regeneration until it happened...Nine didn't say anything to Rose until right before he changed...and didn't Sarah Jane and the Brig have it explained by the other Time Lord guy (the name escapes me) right before Three became Four?

I'd just like to see Amy's reaction to:

Other, especially older, personifications of the Doctor in the Christmas special....
