When Lack Of Responsibility Makes You An A**hole

The Boy Who Cried Worf

Too much responsibility makes one an a**hole, too.

Not that that has anything to do with the topic of neglicting an animal.

Someone left him chained to a tree with no food or water and just LEFT???????? :wtf: He lost half his body weight?????

BASTARDS!!! &*&%$$$#@!!!! :scream: :scream: :scream: God, people suck!!! I hope they die!!

Anybody who would do that to an animal needs to be locked up. That's monstrous. I hope that poor dog survives, and outlives his tormentor.

I remember a recent story of 3 early 20-ies guys who threw a dog over a bridge and he landed on a road.
The dog made it to the shelter, but eventually died.

The guys who did it were not found to my knowledge and were not dealt with accordingly.

This type of animal abuse is really disturbing ... then again, it shows just how immature humans can be.

When I was living at my previous address there was a young cat who used to hang around my place. I knew he belonged to the people across the road because I had seen him there when he was a kitten.

This cat was stealing my cats' food whenever he could. When I finally was able to get close to him and pick him up I realised how thin he was under his long and very matted fur. I weighed him and he only weighed 2.5 kg. I decided against reporting the cat to the RSPCA because I thought the cat would be put down. I knew that the cat was capable of deciding himself who his owners were so I gave him a choice to choose me.

I found out a little later that the owners had actually moved and had illegally allowed a sister to take over the rent of the house. When i knew I was moving I went over to see if it was OK with her for me to take the cat. She wasn't even aware of cat's existence.

I took him with me. I had him desex and he now weights more than 5 kg.

When I arrived at my new house the neighbour told me that the woman who used to live in the house had abandoned her cat two months before. Oh God, I thought not another cat. However the neighbour had been feeding the cat even though she had been told by the Housing Department that she shouldn't be entering the backyard to do so. This neighbour had also arranged a new home for the cat so we only had to catch it. The previous tenant had also left fish in her fishpond but one of the Housing Department repair men took them away in a bucket. He told the neighbour he had a friend who wanted them.

After about 3 months the former tenant knocked on my door to see if I had any of her mail. She actually moaned that the fishpond had been removed and asked me if I knew what happened to the fish. I said i had no idea because I wasn't going to ease her conscience by letting her know that they survived. I asked her if she had had a cat and she said yes but she didn't take it with her because cats were capable of finding new homes.

I wished I could have thought of saying at the time that the cat was so hungry that he ate all the fish.

Most places, you'll only get a fine for animal cruelty/neglect, and it's often difficult to make criminal charges stick.

How about tie the owners up, put them in a room with that dog, don't feed the dog for a couple days and see what happens? Maybe an alternative to that latter part would be to pour some sort of sauce over the owners.

While the person who saved the dog should be commended, it makes you wonder why he or she won't give up the names of the dog abusers.
