When do you think they will turn "Jetsons" into a movie?

They already got 3 "Flintstones" movies so it seems likely they will do a live action movie. I think it would be kind of intresting to see what they would do with the setting. Who should play the characters? i can think of a few

George Jetson=Jason Bateman
Mr Spacely=Danny Devito
Jane=Kate Beckensdale
The teen daughter=Amanda Bynes

Im pretty sure I heard ages ago that one was already in the works. Could have been mistaken though.

EDIT: A quick look at IMDB lists The Jetsons as in development for a 2009 release. Im guessing that this is however, unreliable information and should be taken with a grain of salt at best...

Can anyone think of a live-action Jetson's movie that wouldn't just be filled with camp?

The plot I think could work is the J-team goes on family vacation and falls through a space-time rift to our time. In a scene remicent of the Day the Earth Stood Still, the Jetson's "camper" is surrounded around the military with Rosy standing on the edge of the saucer like gort.... The Jetsons escape and are forced to blend into our society while Elroy figures out a way to reopen the rift. George goes to work for NASA. Jane gets into a "Desperate Housewives" click,were everyone is jelous of her ultra exclusive cellphone. Judy embraces the "primitive" culture and is loving it.

The trailer ends like classic horror/sci-fi scene fully of crakly shaky cam as the military is frantic... fear in the soldier's voice "its... its..... cleaning?" Cut to Rosy polishing all the tanks and vacum the parking lot.

Elroy must be played by: Alexander Gould

Back in junior high my friend said that Chevy Chase would be a great George Jetson. I choose Rosie Odonnell as yep you guessed it Rosie the robot.

You'd think with all the tv shows and cartoons being made into movies this would have been out in 2003 or earlier.

I think in the vein of the first "Flintstones" movie it could be a moderate success.

They already had a jetsons movie. I forget when it came out but it was animiated and they made a big deal about it when i was a kid.
