When did it become commonplace to not give napkins with food?

Seeing as I always check the bag to make sure I received everything I ordered, I find that I never leave without a napkin. Takes about 15 seconds, saves you a lot of stress.

I know that in Texas these restaurants don't give napkins unless asked; Wendy's, Burger King, McDonald's, Whataburger, Bush's Chicken, Sonic, and Popeye's Chicken. I've been left hanging too many times I keep a roll of paper towels in my truck just in-case.

That is ridiculous! If they tried that around here, there would be an uprising. An. Ugly. Uprising.
