what's your local weather?

It has been so hot and dry. We've taken to spending all day indoors. We haven't done a hike since we were at Yellowstone a month ago. We have nice parks and greenbelts nearby but we wouldn't dare go out on a walk. I get sweaty when I walk the dog before the sun is up.

It barely sprinkled for less than 10 minutes this morning while we were out walking the dogs. It's sad that we've reached a point where even that is enough to get me excited.

It was cloudy for a while yesterday morning, so it actually stayed under 110º.
It's 110º now, but it's late enough in the day that it's started to cool down.

We actually got a thunderstorm last night with some rain, wind, thunder and lighting. Everything has pretty much dried out now though.

Hottest day in the Puget Sound region this summer with temperatures in the upper 90s; add in the humidity and it's really muggy out.

It was super windy during the dogs' walk this morning, but after a couple hours it calmed down. It's been cloudy too, so it's stayed down around 105º.

The National Weather Service has issued its first time-ever tropical storm watch for California. It has the potential to deliver a year's worth of rain in a single event. It is also the first time a Level 4 (high risk) of excessive rainfall has been issued.

For anyone down in southern california and Las Vegas, hope you all survive the storms this weekend. Looks like Hilary is going to pack a punch. I was seeing a live clip of Fremont Street in Las Vegas and it was pouring down rain.

My cousin moved to Las Vegas last year because of her husband's job. She been posting videos on Facebook of the rain and wind. Being snarky I replied, "Just like a typical Seattle fall/winter".

Not bad today, I haven't checked the exact temperature, but it's been cloudy and a little cooler today. It looks like whatever remnants we get from Hilary will probably hit tomorrow or Monday.
